Is it possible for Mumsnetters to discuss male users of this site without breaking the Talk Guidelines? Or is this a forbidden topic?

It’s ALWAYS been a magnet for that! People love to troll here, it’s very common. There are threads on other sites about trolling here, hell there is a Twitter about it!

I know a few usernames of Male posters and they ate always polite / helpful / posting in the spirit of the site.

If you have a problem with a poster or thread then report it.

The internet is full of mens communities.

No site is a safe space. Even paid private members sites online.

Report posts that you think are made up, trolling. Don't troll hunt on the thread itself. Ignore posters who are derailing one of your threads and reply to the last (apparently) genuine poster instead. That's all you can do to try to minimise any disruption.

This is presumably why TsAAT are deleted - they're just so frustrating.

If you see a post you think it a troll, click Report. Easy as pie.

If you don't like certain posters, don't engage with them.

What exactly do you want? Not having men on here won’t stop trolls. Trolls troll, they do it all over the internet. You can’t stop them.

I respect everyone's comments. It's fantastic that people are protecting mens' right to be here. It's difficult for me to communicate what I'm trying to say without potentially breaking guidelines. I'm not referring to a specific user or a specific thread.

I think I need to retreat to a cubicle in a cyber-female toilet and stare at the back of the door for a while.

It’s not about protecting men’s rights.

Just say what you want to see, if it gets deleted some of us will have seen it. At current no one has any clue what you’re talking about.

Frankly, anyone who thinks anywhere on the internet is a safe space is completely deluded.

... and I don't think anyone is 'protecting mens' rights to be here' - there are lots of women here who would really prefer there to be no men. But the fact is, there are (and always have been) men posting here.

I used to post for relationship advice with my ex years ago. There was always a balance between sarcastic and useful advice.

But I did the same lately and had a number of private messages from different male users, obviously trying to sniff around/target vulnerable women with relationship problems.

I ignored and deleted, but I bet it would put quite a few women off (and it definitely didn’t happen as much before the male population if the site increased).

Lots of the troll threads have quite distinctive female writing style. Only thing misaing is calling people "hun". It's few users takimg piss and imho many are not men

OP - you have a choice - either just sat whatever it is you have an issue with, or don’t bother making a thread alluding to something that no one really understands. You can say ‘I’d rather men aren’t here as it makes me feel unsafe’, I think you’re allowed to say that if that is how you feel?

The number of men on here has increased since the Sex Topic became widely known about. I've no doubt a lot of those men only use MN to send inappropriate PMs.
