How can Mumsnetters

Is it possible for Mumsnetters to discuss male users of this site without breaking the Talk Guidelines? Or is this a forbidden topic?

There have been men on this site for many years. Why is it now an issue?

That has nothing to do with make or female. There are women newshounds as well as male, and there are men and women posting made up nonsense.

@BIWI not about specific users or specific threads. Of course men are welcome, but there has been a number of posts where the mums of Mumsnet are devalued and I don't feel welcome here anymore

That's not unique to MN.

The moment you post something on the internet you lose control of what people do with it.

If you're not happy to do that, don't post.

Even if men were not supposed to be here, how would you tell? Its not like it can be verified.

@pickledandpuzzled Absolutely, yes, you're right. And it seems I can make comments about female trolls but not about make trolls. That's the point I'm trying to express without my comments being deleted.

And there's nothing new about trolls on MN. Male or female.

If you have a problem with specific posters you think are trolling, then you report them to MNHQ. How is that difficult?

Did you start that thread telling all the men to go away? There was nothing in there about trolls.

@Flickersy Yes, always been the case. But it used to be the odd thread here and there. Now, I can't be sure of the authenticity of any thread.

I'm not keen on most of the men on MN. Especially the ones who only use the Sex topic.

Well surely you know that not everyone is who they are on the internet. One can never be sure of the sex of the person with whom one is interacting on here.

@BIWI I always report and never engage. My issue is that, at some point, this website will be a magnet for people starting false threads and will no longer be a safe site for me to go to for advice, help, guidance, socialising.

This site has never ever been a safe place. Never.

So before this gets deleted @SheSaidHummingbird , what do you want? For no men in here? That’s not possible, so it would have to be no men to admit they are men?

Woukdnt you rather men found community too? Especially for those who come on and ask support with regards to a female partner as you are helping them in the long run? (Potentially)

It's a public forum. It isn't exclusively women why would it be?
You can discuss men (most threads do actually). What you can't do is troll hunt as that's breaking the terms of useage

The site owners have put right at the top of every page "by parents for parents". This isn't a democracy, and they've made their overall position quite clear - they support all parents, even if the emphasis is on mums.
