... your close friends didn't remember your first baby's first birthday?

OP posts:
teoma · 19/11/2023 20:39

Not that much really.

gwenneh · 19/11/2023 20:40

No. My kids are central to my life, not theirs.

MereDintofPandiculation · 19/11/2023 20:40

No! I’d be surprised if they remembered my birthday let alone my DC’s

SouthLondonMum22 · 19/11/2023 20:41

Not at all.

Laiste · 19/11/2023 20:41

Yes.
But it would be very hypocritical of me because i don't remember any of their kids b days 🤔

Exactly that.
It's hard to conceive when you love you child more than anything and genuinely believe they are the cutest thing ever... but it is true!

Cumbrianlife · 19/11/2023 20:47

No but I wouldn't remember either.

Badgerstmary · 19/11/2023 20:47

I definitely wouldn’t expect them to remember my children’s birthday.

catandgirlmum · 19/11/2023 20:50

Yes it would bother me.

TeeBee · 19/11/2023 20:54

No.

WhatTheEll · 19/11/2023 20:54

Yes it would bother me. When you say close friends, I imagine you all have kids? Kids play together? You see them often, text often etc. I have those relationships. We buy each others kids, birthday presents. If they forgot I think I would definitely be bothered.

It does depend on the context of your relationship.....

pictoosh · 19/11/2023 20:55

No, it wouldn't bother me. I'm crap with dates.

Purplecatshopaholic · 19/11/2023 20:56

No. I wouldn’t remember their kids birthdays either.

JustTalkToThem · 19/11/2023 20:56

Weird assumption?

Ladybughello · 19/11/2023 20:56

Nope

pictoosh · 19/11/2023 20:57

I couldn't actually tell you the dates of any of my friends' children's birthdays off the top of my head. The month I could do for a few...the specific date, no.

smilesup · 19/11/2023 20:57

No. I absolutely don't remember their kids birthdays and don't expect them mine. I very much don't want to be buying presents for or getting any more presents and we already do anyway. Too much stuff!

It was just a question....

Riverlee · 19/11/2023 20:59

No, I wouldn’t expect them too.

Are you the mother, or the close friend (who I guess has been criticised)?

I’m guessing close friends don’t have children either.

Frogmarch89 · 19/11/2023 21:00

Yes it would bother me.

coldcallerbaiter · 19/11/2023 21:00

I only remember my dc, dh, dsis and dm birthdays. Nobody else’s. In the end they are the only people that matter to me.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 19/11/2023 21:02

No! Of course not .

Srx1 · 19/11/2023 21:02

No we don't all have kids, we actually live quite far now but we were inseparable from our teens (one of them I was bff since we were 6) throughout twenties etc. It's more about them acknowledging that big milestone than them remembering every single birthday kinda thing, if it makes sense? One of them has a kid and I remembered. (I put dates in a calendar if it is important to me).

One remembered 😬

Growlybear83 · 19/11/2023 21:03

I wouldn't expect anyone other than my husband to remember.

Derb · 19/11/2023 21:04

Nope
