Not at all about the women, just that I would not want to date a habitual user! Or punter as they're called. And yes this came up recently.

This is discussion about how you would feel about it?

AIBU - wouldn't mind
YANBU - would mind

Who are you talking about?

And you still haven't explained: darling you've just proved the point why autistic men should see sex workers.

I've proved no such point.

And the women who didn’t make the decision to have sex, they have to be punished too for becoming pregnant after rape? Incest?

My goodness, of all the disgusting things I’ve seen on mumsnet over the years, your posts today really are among the most vile.

Not sure if you’re just a troll, but either way I am so sorry for whatever has happened to you to make you feel the way you do.

@torettsticks ok whatever. Thankfully you’re not the one setting the rules and your opinion doesn’t really matter.

I have just seen you’ve been a bit hmm on a few threads today. I hope you’re getting all the attention and reactions you need. Your nastiness towards that other poster was uncalled for. Let’s hope you’re nicer when your baby is born so he/she doesn’t learn such behaviour. Good luck :-)

peakedatseven · 18/11/2023 04:44

Yep, like I thought. Ignoring my response when I responded to you directly questioning me but carrying on with anti-choice shit 🙄

Men can’t pay for sex because they aren’t entitled to it = women who became pregnant didn’t need to have sex = ignoring actual prostitutes who actually need to have sex to earn money from someone who claims to have been one. Zero logic.

@PostOpOp as Germaine said, "Women have very little idea of how much men hate them."

Another chilling one by Margaret Attwood -

'Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them.'

You're on the right track, @Tonight1 shocking. He probably felt it was so normal to go to a prostitute that it was no different to him changing his underpants. Thank goodness you caught him off-guard and could kick him to the curb, like he deserves.

Hahahahahaha at we have social security.

Why did you do it then? Because I know I did it for money that I apparently didn’t need because social security was there all along. Silly me. What was your reason?

TiptoeThroughTheToadstools · 18/11/2023 05:00

YANBU I wouldn't date a guy who had used prostitutes. Less so morally, more to do with sexual health. But in general I think its ick.

Missingmyusername · 18/11/2023 05:28

I know a man who used a prostitute in Amsterdam when he was younger, he just did it as he was on holiday with the lads. His wife doesn’t know and he isn’t proud of it.

I wouldn’t knowingly date a man who had used a prostitute and I wouldn’t use one myself. I wonder how many women use a male escort.

DinoDaddy · 18/11/2023 05:42

I have several friends who are sex workers. Mostly they escort but they all make content (porn) too. My friend made £180k from escorting last year (£300 an hour) and she makes over £500 a day from passive income from content she has uploaded. She is very happy. All this nonsense that all women are trafficked and abuse is totally mumsnet nonsense. They do say though that 95% of their punters are married though.

@cariadlet @AntonFeckoff

I appreciate both your views, but the average person does not want to live without sex.

In places like Australia, prostitution is legal and actually regulated, so in this situation, is it still considered 'rape' in your view? The women are there voluntarily and get paid good money for a service they willingly provide.

I remember a blogger saying that the average woman has the same access to sex as an A-list celebrity... this is certainly not true for even good-looking men. An average woman could ask 100 men and be reasonably successful... an average man would fail miserably.

Saying 'I can have sex any time I want, but f you, men, you have to rely on your right hand because those are the cards you were dealt' is a bit insensitive... akin to a man saying women have to sit on the sidelines at sport because f you, women, those are the cards you were dealt'. The ability to succeed (more) in each case is simply a 'perk' of each respective gender. Women biologically have greater access to sex, and men biologically are stronger and thus will outperform women at sport.

I'm asking the question, but honestly, I don't think there is an answer. OLD means that women can be very picky about who they bed, and as a result, there will be a lot of men without a sexual future. Prostitution has been used for centuries but is now being shamed. Porn would be a 'second best' but is equally derided (on MN).

You claim that women can get sex but men can't and you use this for justification for men to buy sex. That is not consent btw.

There are very roughly 4 billion straight women in the world and very roughly 4 billion straight men. So, you believe all women generally have access to sex but all men do not? So 4 billion women choose to be with maybe 2/3 billion men. And the remainder of men need access to prostitutes? Absurd!

Also even if this were true consent can not be bought.

floofbag · 18/11/2023 06:40

Pretty sure no woman would date a man who use prostitutes .

It's gross however you look at it but the lack of empathy for those women is the worst bit .

A man that can separate feeling if his partner and someone he is paying is not a nice person .

Believe it or not, many women are feminists and care deeply about the rights and safety of other women. For most women, it really isn’t about fear of partners being with ‘younger more attractive women’.

And yes, lots of us have checked out ukpunting which is one of the reasons we hate ‘punters’ so much.

Waitingfordoggo · 18/11/2023 06:47

Also meant to say @DinoDaddy that it’s really weird that you think women are faking concern about prostituted women. Why would anyone need to fake that? Have you heard of empathy or compassion at all?

Userxyd · 18/11/2023 06:51

No way. Not interested in any man who uses prostitutes for the reasons everyone has said.

Islandlifex · 18/11/2023 07:56

I will echo what a previous poster said about a high percentage of clients being married men. My very good friend is an independent escort and sets her own high hourly rate and vets her clients before meeting. She would never consider doing anything else! She loves her work and is in no way trafficked or coerced. She is far, far better off than me financially. She is extremely busy and she has always said that the majority of her clients are married men, family men and men in long term relationships. She has also said that it's very often the men who you would never expect to use escorts and she is often the most busy during working hours with men nipping out on their lunch breaks or starting/finishing an hour early. It is usually quiet for her at the weekends.

I believe far more men have used escorts than we are lead to believe, the statistics say something like 1 in 10 but a lot of men would never admit to this, even on an anonymous survey. There is a reason why my friend is so busy and that prostitution is the oldest profession, it's not going anywhere whether we like it or not. For all anyone on this thread knows, their partner or DH could be up to it and they would be absolutely none the wiser!

I'd rather stay poor!!

As long as your friends are happy and safe.

Prostitution will always happen. It's just that I really don't want to pursued or harassed by a 'punter'.

I agree with the above thoughts largely, but I'm interested in how people would handle the lack of sex.

To put it into context, literally any girl can go on OLD and be swamped with men after one thing... but your average man could message thousands and not get any interest.

So, while I agree, I am absolutely against prostitution too, what are people's solutions to that itch that women are (largely) able to catch ad libitum, but men cannot?

I think the problem of women losing their bodily autonomy and being used to 'scratch an itch' is worse than men living without sex. The harm is greater. But no one is asking men what their solution is to the exploitation, degradation, traffic, rape and torture of women is. However, here you are asking a female dominated forum to solve this problem for men.

Throughout most of history, and still today in many parts of the world, women have been denied their sexual agency. Marital rape wasn't even made illegal in the UK until the 90s, because men's desire for sex has always been considered more important than a woman's right to decide what happens to her own body.

Just imagine for a second how much pain and suffering that encompasses. Of the history of women being bought, sold, traded, married off and used over and over again.

The solution might be men facing the fact that they don't have a right to satisfy their desires by using an unwilling woman's body.

CurlewKate · 18/11/2023 08:45

@TangerineNeonLight "The solution might be men facing the fact that they don't have a right to satisfy their desires by using an unwilling woman's body."
This. A million times this.

I mean, there are plenty of millionaires out there and no matter how hard I work, I am unlikely to become one, but it doesn’t mean I’m going to go out and rob a bank.

In life, we don’t always get what we want and we just have to accept that, not commit crimes or assault vulnerable members of society.
