To think Michael Gove wasn’t just out for a stroll through Victoria station last night

So Michael Gove just ‘happened’ to be strolling through Victoria station last night right through the middle of a pro- palestine sit in 🙄 How fucking stupid do they think people are?

Deflects nicely from Suella & right wing Tommy Robinson mob doesn’t it. The palestine March was mostly peaceful given the huge numbers but you always get a few dickheads on any March. The right wing mob however we’re fighting with police at the cenotaph. The state of this country.

"What was Michael Gove doing in the middle of Victoria station on a day when every other sensible politician did not want to make the police's job any harder?

"I mean, was he drunk? What was he doing there?"

Nadine Dorries

I somewhat concerned that Nadine thinks she is sensible.

Interestingly ‘staged’ has been trending on Twitter- mainly about Gove.

There are also some ghouls on Twitter who think kids in Gaza are staging their injuries - Twitter is a cesspit to be fair.

You’ve read WAY more into that than was ever intended! Badenock is right on the far right edge of the Tory party. I find her and her views completely abhorrent. I’m surprised anyone who shares her beliefs has many friends too.

DistrictAndCircle · 12/11/2023 13:23

Obviously completely out of order to intimidate anyone in this way, especially when someone is targeted because of the political position they hold.

But I do think that Gove didn’t end up there entirely by accident. Not sure if this has been mentioned earlier in this thread but it’s not the first time that cameras have been present as Gove has been surrounded by a mob. It happened in October 2021 with Covid protesters (Google it if you want to see how remarkably similar it was then compared to now).

Smileycup · 12/11/2023 12:04

Well there’s a surprise. Honestly. I despair at the state of this corrupt, self-serving lot and the fuckers that keep them in power. I can’t remember ever feeling this depressed by the state of the UK.

It’s not a suprise, it’s well known that he WAS married to Sarah Vine. They are divorced.

catsanddogsandrabbits · 12/11/2023 13:27

Those saying he deserved it - Do you also agree: - short skirt = asking for it? , two men holding hands = well what do you expect?, Muslim women wearing burka = they're provoking us??? Or is it just politicians? Campaigners against left wing policies in the Red Wall towns ? Doorstep left wing campaigners in right wing neighbourhoods? All deserve it? Or is it just people you personally don't like who get attacked who are asking for it and so deserve it? (And you appear to enjoy it?).
So what would your world look like for those who didn't agree??

FayCarew · 12/11/2023 13:33

Badenock is right on the far right edge of the Tory party.
The tories like her. They don't like Mr Sunak because he's not right wing enough, and the same was true of Mrs May.

Sunak won't sack Braverman, because she's a loose cannon.

It's a shame if we can't see these people's views and policies without also seeing their sex, race or colour.

mushroomagic · 12/11/2023 13:36

And yet they chose to do it on Armistice day 🙄

It was still fully light in the pictures I have seen. So must have been c4pm.

That's true - the Guardian reported Saturday evening.

It takes a long time for 300k protesters to leave London and they use mainline stations.

Why did you provide extensive details about the route if you were only referring to people leaving London after the march?

Edited

I don't think there is a formula published about how long it takes 300k people to complete a 3 mile protest march but I imagine it takes a while. I knew Gove was there in daylight but didn't know the exact time. It seems there was also a sit in protest at Victoria much like there was at Liverpool st a week or two ago.

Gove probably also had a small hand held device connected to the internet with him so could have got up to date information on the state of the area before and during his car journey.

(And, knowing you from Brexit threads, I don't believe you first read about Gove being in Victoria in the Guardian Grin.)

Hostages freed now.

Then a ceasefire.

So Israel says free hostages and then ceasefire.
Hamas say ceasefire then hostages free.

The difference between the two is if Hamas free the hostages how do they know Israel will keep it's word. If Israel start the ceasefire and hostages aren't freed they just start bombing again.

I can see why Hamas want the ceasefire first.

Izzy54321 · 12/11/2023 13:49

So what would be your plan to stop Hamas?? What would you do if you were Israel? What about OUR dead children? Our raped women? They are innocent too, no life is lesser than another. But I don’t see you crying over Jews.

Nothing to do with her being a WOC, I do not care for her politics, nor those of Gove, Braverman, Dorries, Johnson, Sunak, Shapps, Patel, Hunt, Barclay, and the majority of the current iteration of the Tory party.

Patsy51 · 12/11/2023 13:51

He’s not married to her anymore and hasn’t been for quite a while.I would like to kerp Mumsnet a politics free site.

He is married to Sarah Vine who works for the Mail.

I thought that they had divorced.

ThinWomansBrain · 12/11/2023 13:54

Surely, if it was deliberate, Braverman would have done it herself.
😂

Throwhandsupintheair · 12/11/2023 13:59

Top politicians are briefed on security. His team would have been told, due to his status, he should not be in the middle of the protest but hey ho.

Anyway it worked. We’re talking about him and not Suella’s stormtroopers seig heiling next to the cenotaph.

I will pass your kind and thoughtful remarks on to them.

Have they arrested any of the pro hamas thugs who were harassing Jews leaving a synagogue yet?

Or the one with the megaphone ranting about a seventh century massacre of Jewish people "Muhammed's army will return".

You don't know me very well then - most of my info on the Brexit threads initially came from the Guardian, the Independent and the BBC - I then researched further elsewhere.

Saw a funny comment on social media:

’my grandfather fought in WW2 , and if he was still alive would have agreed with everything Suella has said. Mind you, he was in the SS’!
