NIGEL FARAGE ON GB NEWS - WTF???

hideoushideoushideous · 11/11/2023 17:38

GB 'News' - when did this start? It's not even news - there's no on the scene reporters. Just dubious characters and selected commentators spewing xenophobic shite.

When all other news channels were reporting the developing situation in Gaza this week, all GB News we're doing was attempting to stir up outrage about today's Pro-Palestinian March.

I couldn't believe what I saw. Farage has his own show to spew his poisonous divisive diatribe. He was showing some random photo of some (white, middle-aged) poppy sellers outside a tube station. There were people from last weekend's Palestinian support march coming out if the tube station. Some had children. Some were non-white (as in any London street). All just walking - nothing to remark about. Farage was saying the photo was definitive evidence that immigration has gone too far and we have brought in too many people "who don't share British values." Wtf! Most if the people in the photo are probably as British as him! Farage is despicable and his language is that of hate and division. I can't believe he gets away with it.

I can only assume Suella Braverman is auditioning for GB News, given her pathetic attempts to incite division this week.

Well NF and SB - looks like your vile narrative has backfired. Who were the ones arrested for disorder today? The Far Right morons (what GB News would equate with the 'Great British Public').

NF (and SB) need to go. They are dangerous. Enough is enough. AIBU.

Oh do be quiet. You know where the off switch is.

So you think life in the UK is unaffected by misinformation and racism on tv?

I watch GB news from time to time for about ten minutes. It's an alternative perspective on the news. All news presenters are biased, every outlet and every individual has an angle they are pushing - even if it's not overt, there is a reason why topics are covered or not, or what order they are covered in. People notice GB News because it's not left or centre-left like the BBC, ITN, Sky etc. It's no more biased than the others, it's just biased to the right instead of left.

4 sitting Tory MPs from the RW of the party have their own shows.
The leader of the RW Reform UK has his own show.
Nigel Farage has his own show.
Practically all other presenters are vocal about being RW.

It's no more biased than the others
WTAF?🤯 It's an unashamedly RW views channel. It is extremely biased and it is not a News channel.

GB News is just a retirement home for right wing loons who can't get work anywhere else.

HRTQueen · 20/11/2023 08:16

GB news is right wing

that I’m not bothered about those that tune in have those views or want to sit there feeling angry about the presenters views

being on I am a celebrity is a different matter playing the I speak for the ordinary man and woman card,
soon he will get back on national political shows edging his way into the Tory party haven’t lessons been learnt 🤬🙄

AdrianaLaCerva · 20/11/2023 08:29

Well this thread is all a bit chilling isn’t it… what do we want? Compelled thought and opinion! When do we want it? Now!

Well said Dot, 100% agree. But there is a lot of people intolerant of other views and I've seen folk wanting it shut down - this was a few months ago, think it the Laurence Fox debacle.

I don't particularly like Jeremy Corbyn, but if he had a show I'd take a look as I still like to hear other views because it keeps you balanced. Same with Tony Blair because I'm interested in his opinion on certain matters, not that I would necessarily agree - but maybe I would if he put across a great debate.

Same with Farage, Mogg...dare I say it...BJ. It does me good to watch lots of views, channels, read different papers. Long may it reign.

I'm assuming that also goes for their army of left wing commentators?

Seems I'm not alone in not wanting to watch Putin superfan and nasty racist NF.

I'm A Celebrity 2023: TV viewing figures fall by two million for opening show - BBC News

I was pleased to see this. All this talk about voting with your remote has been taken seriously, finally thank fuck.
The ratings will probably pick up, but the launch show loss of ratings tells you a lot.

Tbf it was up 2 million last year

The 2022 launch show was watched by an average of 9.1 million, with that season featuring a cast including Jill Scott, Owen Warner and Matt Hancock. That year's premiere was also up around 2 million from the 2021 season

But these are people that have presumably done it the official way. No doubt some people have prejudice against them too but this isn't really where the debate seems to lie. Most of the angry right wing people are banging on about the government spending millions a day on hotels etc.

I agree with this to a point but these are LEGAL immigrants. They come over here through the proper channels. They’ve paid the proper taxes, have a NI number etc. and we can ensure our services can cater for those but not 100s of 1000s of illegal immigrants - how can any infrastructure deal with that?

EDIT quoted the wrong person - meant to quote the person that said we need these immigrants for our buses, care homes, hospitals etc.

pointythings · 20/11/2023 19:37

@Mummysgogetter it is not illegal to come here by small boat. No matter what our government says. International law is very clear that refugees are not under any obligation to seek asylum in the first safe country they reach.

These people do not become illegal until the asylum process has been worked through and their claim turned down. If they do not leave at that point, they are illegal immigrants. When they step off their boats, they are not.

Abhannmor · 20/11/2023 20:35

He could be the next Tory leader. Prime minister in 2028. Unless a red back spider gets him.

Therein lies the excitement I suppose. But I've never watched it tbh

ToWhitToWhoo · 20/11/2023 21:45

Horrible people- but anyone who watches GB News should expect to get RW propaganda. Best solution is just not to watch it- saves your sanity and blood pressure, and if few people watch it, it will fade into obscurity.

WhatYouWearing · 21/11/2023 05:46

Thanks to @cariadlet recommendation on this thread I have watched two episodes of Andrew Doyle's Free Speech Nation. It is excellent. On Sundays episode Andrew pointed out he is not right wing and has never voted Tory.

Calling · 22/06/2024 09:22

OP, he isn't your type, we get that, but we cannot deny his freedom of speech!
