Just watched the Graham Norton show on IPlayer. He refuses to budge up on the sofa - leaving two female guests squished together.

Is he being a dick or am I missing something?

He is renowned for being an arse. Can’t stand him personally.

SprinklesMcDoodles · 06/11/2023 13:18

I thought it was well known that he wasn’t a nice person. Never has anything nice to say to anyone and there’s also the fact that he was sent to jail for falsely imprisoning a male escort. He got 15 months and served 4. I’m surprised the public tolerate him at all.

x2boys · 06/11/2023 13:18

I haven't seen it but he wss a,twat throughout I'm a celebrity last year .

Manadou · 06/11/2023 13:19

Always thought he was a dick. That hat.

WTF? How is he allowed a platform on the BBC?

Didn’t realise he had such a bad rep. I don’t know much about him but was pretty surprised by his rudeness on GN show. GN even said to budge up and he moved about an inch.

BBC is happy to hear from convicted criminals- see also Vicky Pryce who pops up from time to time.

CallieQ · 06/11/2023 13:23

I watched and didn't notice anything out of order

SprinklesMcDoodles · 06/11/2023 13:23

I’ve no idea but they also employed Jimmy Saville when they knew what he was up to so I don’t have much faith in them.

Ok I missed the start maybe it happened then

CurlewKate · 06/11/2023 13:26

The BBC seems to have no problem in platforming violent men.

SisterMichaelsHabit · 06/11/2023 13:26

It was immensely satisfying re-watching the Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2006 last night and seeing David Walliams and Boy George going at each other while Noel Fielding and Russell Brand hid under a table.

Yeah. Right at the start and they gradually then shuffled a bit but still the woman next to him was squished against him, while he had room on the other side.

Well, quite.

I read his autobiography years ago and he came across as a nasty twat then, he hasn't improved.

This comment made me laugh - Vicky Pryce is not exactly a hardened criminal is she?

Boy George is very unpleasant however.

funbags3 · 06/11/2023 13:36

What he done to that escort was horrendous. He's a very unpleasant person.

Wingedharpy · 06/11/2023 13:38

Graham Norton needs a better sofa IMHO.
The backrest is too low and runs out before the end.
The shuffling up one way at the beginning and the opposite way at the end, to make way for the singer(s) is messy.
They know how many guests they have coming on - just provide enough seating so that people can be comfortable and not hunched forward.

Didn’t see that, but Noel Fielding must have, pissed someone right off to get that gig.

DeadBugMountainClimber · 06/11/2023 13:39

Not budging up on the sofa is the least of his crimes. He should’ve vanished into obscurity after torturing that poor man he held prisoner.

Yes. Just looked it up. He got gigs on several channels afterwards. Unbelievable really.

TomatoSandwiches · 06/11/2023 13:43

YANBU his contempt for anyone and everyone that doesn't serve him a purpose and females in general but especially successful females is very thinly veiled.

A very nasty specimen.

Middleagedmeangirls · 06/11/2023 13:45

He was charged and found guilty and served his time so it's fair enough that he's on tv.

However none of that changes the fact he comes across as a very nasty person.

ChipButtiesRule · 06/11/2023 13:47

Cannot stand him. The business with the escort showed just what a nasty, violent little thug he is.

Yes it was like a meeting of bastards... and poor Noel stuck in the thick of it. Watching DW and BG, I was struck by the fact that two people I really didn't like were making an embarrassment of themselves and each other on national TV.
