Just watched the Graham Norton show on IPlayer. He refuses to budge up on the sofa - leaving two female guests squished together.

Is he being a dick or am I missing something?

Yes, I thought that, talk about man spreading! I felt really sorry for Sarah Snook, she had to put a brave face on what was probably quiet and awkward situation BG was so close to her.

StrangeVeg · 06/11/2023 18:45

He has always been abhorrent. And dull, dull, dull. Miriam Margolis is not everyone’s cup of tea but at least you can see a light shining in there.

He wouldn’t know what wit was were a sex worker to imprison him and hit him in the face with it.

Motnight · 06/11/2023 18:55

He's doing panto this year...

Oh yes he is!

Raspberrymoon49 · 06/11/2023 18:58

Disgusting person with wildly inflated ego

MollyRover · 06/11/2023 19:08

I said it to DH he did make everyone look really uncomfortable and seemed happy to do so. He's definitely a nasty piece of work.

Brainfogmcfogface · 06/11/2023 19:16

Genuinely can’t see the issue, they all
look fine and happy to me.

Always thought he was a dick. That hat.

Ken Dodds Diddy men wore the same style. Can't get them out of my head when looking at him

BBC is happy to hear from convicted criminals- see also Vicky Pryce who pops up from time to time.

Yes but she was a world-leading economist before her massive misjudgement in men. So probably that bit of what she has to say is still worth listening to.

socialdilemmawhattodo · 06/11/2023 19:31

And yes BG - dick extraordinaire. I saw him at a family-friendly festival a few years ago. I have posted this before. There were clearly sound issues - separate stages and the sound had worked well for the previous act on his stage. The act started late, and BG starts singing, then looking around at one of his backing singers. Clearly her mike still wasnt working. Instead of stopping the show, asking the tech team to look again, he continues but is mouthing and really over the top. He had forgotten that on the big screens if you are close you can look down their tonsils. He had no idea how visible to x thousand people his face and anger was. When he then claimed credit for the Crying Game I walked out at that point. No thank you.

FofB · 06/11/2023 19:34

I said exactly the same thing to my OH!

catskittens · 06/11/2023 19:41

his house was up for sale this year amazing place

Did you see the start? I’d be interested to hear what you think. Over time they shuffled and once he was talking there was a much bigger gap I think.

Ah. So a few other people noticed too. Not just me then. I found myself shouting at him, telling him to budge up! Glad I was on my own!

Playing devils advocate I wonder if he'd been told to leave space at the end for the singer/final guest? I felt they were all too close for comfort but kind of made more sense once the last guest came on...

I wondered that but GN said to shift up and usually the first guest does sit close to the end and then they all shuffle up and squish at the end when the music act joins them. He just looked attention grabby to me but I didn’t want to make assumptions- but seems like I might be right from what people have said about him.

He's such a horrible person. I imagine he gets away with it because he's part of the lgbtqi community. They can do no wrong for the BBC.

It was immensely satisfying re-watching the Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2006 last night and seeing David Walliams and Boy George going at each other while Noel Fielding and Russell Brand hid under a table.

Ooh where did you watch this?

Nah I don't buy it. I watch the show every week and I've never had the same thought that people were on top of eachother. It was really noticeable. Sarah Snook was almost falling off the couch and Greta Lee looked like she wanted to disappear.

I haven't seen it but he wss a,twat throughout I'm a celebrity last year .

That's not how I saw it on IAC. I thought it was commendable how he called out Matt Hancock. The only one to have the balls to say what everyone else is thinking.

I meet a lot of 'famous' people in my line of work. Boy George is hands down one of my favourites.

Lol at a convicted criminal who downplays his crime and isn’t sorry being commended for calling out the behaviour of another

Rainallnight · 06/11/2023 21:06

I was a huge fan of his when I was a kid, and then recently watched a documentary about the reunion of Culture Club and couldn’t believe what an arse he was. So disappointing.

topnoddy · 06/11/2023 21:16

Boy George is a bellend , mind you Norton isn't much better

tttigress · 06/11/2023 21:21

Apart from him being a well known arse and criminal, why is he on Graham Norton? He was at his peak in the early 80s. Wouldn't they be better off getting some more up to date guests in?

JingleBellsBatman · 06/11/2023 21:28

I noticed it OP. Even shouted "budge up you prick" at the telly several times. Ugh

bombastix · 06/11/2023 21:30

He's just not a nice guy. Though the sofa is the least of it.
