What is wrong with these men, ffs. Those poor poor girls. The abuse and assaults. They are children, why why why did this happen.

BBC Article to the sentencing

Mohammed Ghani, 38, Insar Hussain, 38, Jahn Shahid Ghani, 50, Martin Rhodes, 39, and Ali Razza Hussain Kazmi, 35, sexually exploited two teenage girls in Rochdale between 2002 and 2006.

Rochdale grooming: Predatory gang jailed for child abuse

Five men abused two girls when they were aged 13 and 14 after giving them drugs and alcohol.

Were on earth were the children's parents?

I wondered this too. How did it go on for 6years with the 12yo and parents or anyone didn't notice. Being drugged and traumatised yet no one noticed? For 6 years? Mind boggling.

We are apparently not allowed to discuss this specific issue without getting slandered.

BlowingInTheWind82 · 01/11/2023 21:20

@Captainspaulding not seen your posts
@Arbutusflower far from a BNP voter.
I have Pakistani friends who abhor how women are seen as third class citizens, after Men and young boys. Yes I have friends from rich cities like Karachi but the majority of Pakistanis in this country do not move away from each other, they are often MirPuri Pakistani and marry their cousins. They know from day 1 who their wife will be. It’s like this gives them permission to go out and do what they want. Their wives turn a blind eye.

The number of poor wives of these men that attend my Sister’s surgery in a Northern town, with STIs not realising they’re STIs because their husbands are playing around/ often they’re taxi drivers. There remains a rural mentality on educating women.

They see white girls as easily manipulated.

As I said, social conditions for white working class boys and girls won't go well for them whilst the middle classes are busy bringing about their downfall, so thank you for spectacularly proving my point.

Papyrophile · 01/11/2023 21:46

Chemical castration?????????? Two bricks. Between the legs. Would sort out lots of problematic behaviour. The ANgloSaxon solution. Happy to be deleted.

Papyrophile · 01/11/2023 21:52

In public, preferably so that everyone could see the bricks clapped together forcefully. In the stocks, in a public place for maximum shame value.

Resilience · 01/11/2023 17:23

@Sharontheodopolodous - that's worthy of a complaint to the police. Not only is the underlying attitude shocking but the fact that they shared that level of sensitive information with your son is also deeply worrying.

I agree

My ds mentioned that he did know her-as in 'I'm worried and I'm related to her something has to be done'

They where not only happy to talk about her in a 'silly little slag' way, they just didn't want to know-they laughed at ds saying he needed to be arrested

Her sw was the same-they just gave the whole 'silly little slapper with an older boyfriend' line

Nobody seemed bothered that she was 12 when this happened-they did say they'd 'had a word' with her (but she's very headstrong and thinks she knows best-shes crying out for someone to take charge and actually parent her-her mums dead, father in prison and her stepdad is as about as useful as i marshmallow)

It's fucking digusting-shes 15

As a child-at that age I was shopping with my mates and working in my part time job

She's being raped by older men, beaten if she doesn't toe the line and drinking/taking drugs to block out the horrors

And nobody who could help,do something will for whatever reason

I'm living in fear that one day her name will come on the news, saying she's dead and 'lessons will be learnt'

But they are not being learnt-its still going on!

I'm sure it's comforting to think that's what happened. Thanks in return for neatly proving mine. Middle classes and capitalists in cahoots with the alien values of foreigners. Now where have we heard that line before?

Dweetfidilove · 01/11/2023 22:51

Girlswillbetwirls · 01/11/2023 16:03

And the comments about police being worried they are being racist is laughable. This is NOT the reason it went on for so long without intervention.

Police may worry about many things but being racist is not one of them.

Ffs a common lie they tell to black men is that they can smell weed in their car even when they can’t ( I’ve had friends who’ve never even smoked a cigarette had that lie levelled at them ). Or that they have a description of a suspect matching their description when often the ONLY similarity will be skin tone but everything else is different. Or stopping black or Asian men driving nice cars.

If the girls involved were white middle class girls whose parents were councillors, teachers, doctors etc the police would’ve taken action quicker.

Many of them were looked after kids and/or in highly dysfunctional and deprived families.
Unfortunately many police write girls like this off from a young age. Which is disgusting and vile and society needs to have a broader discussion about how Looked After Children & other high risk children are treated.

Statistics show police are more likely to stop, search and brutalise men of colour, and they are more likely to face harsher sentencing if convicted in a court of law, and less likely to get released early. Literally no part of the criminal justice from police to the court favours Asian men or non-white men of other races, so can this BS stop being repeated.

True, true and true

changeitbacknow · 01/11/2023 23:28

I’ve changed my username for this so as not to out myself.

I am S Asian and growing up in the 80s/90s. I was allowed out a lot more than most Asian girls at the time and I think some men think that if you are out then you are fair game, because if you’re parents care then they wouldn’t let you out in the first place. We were regularly approached by creeps in the park or the street. Men just hung around and tried to chum up to you.At the time, it felt flattering and powerful to have this attention from older males but now it makes me physically sick. One of my friends would be given free cigarettes and booze by a local newsagent when his wife was in the back. We laughed our heads off at the time but looking back you can see how messed up it was.

There was a girl in my class at school who was raped by older guys and could not report it or speak to her parents because she as an Asian girl she shouldn’t have been at the party in the first place. I have experienced abuse by creepy old men, as have siblings and friends. We would not be able to tell our parents or discuss it openly because we would have been blamed for it.

myopinionmatters · 02/11/2023 02:19

Because the girls have no father's around I can bet.

myopinionmatters · 02/11/2023 02:28

Nepmarthiturn · 01/11/2023 17:06

How does this happen? The police must be aware that any 45 year old man "dating" a 15 year old is a rapist?! And for 3 years, so she was 12 when he started raping her. The law is clear that it is rape, clear on coercive control etc, so I genuinely don't understand how the police or the social worker can justify their position legally? Children do not get to make "lifestyle choices" because they are children!

Understand it, because it's true.
I reported a family member who had sex with one of my friends. My friend was 15, he was around 25.
police said If she doesn't make a complaint they can't do anything.

myopinionmatters · 02/11/2023 02:34

This family member also met and dates another 15yr old girl when he was late 20s.
Eventually had a case against him when he touched his girlfriends sister who was 13. Unfortunately got found not guilty.
Everyone in mt family knows this guy he a pervert just he hasn't been punished

Whydoifeelsobadallthetime · 02/11/2023 04:45

Twicemother · 01/11/2023 04:13

How to stop them??

There was a very large and long established gang like this in Walsall. It's been recently uncovered. Generations of girls targeted! Horrific, just awful.

Its so wide spread and it seems to be right under everyone's noses!

Rochdale, Telford, Newcastle, Walsall, Rotherham, and so many many other cities. Its got to be stopped! How is it allowed to run on for generations?

Vile people targeting the most vulnerable.

I agree, not in any of the places listed, but I was told of a grooming gang that my mother and her friends were targeted by in the 80s.

At the time they reported it, and police officers told them pretty much that they couldn't arrest the perpetrators because of the families they belonged to.

Sadly, I think that society is now made up of a lot of very fucked up individuals, paedophiles who operate in rings or as lone perpetrators are seemingly increasing and the only thing we can really do is safeguard our children in hope that us being present and heavily involved in their lives will deter these scumbags from going anywhere near our kids.

I know from my mother's told experience that these men played on girls vulnerabilities, they'd offer take away food, they'd offer cigarettes and alcohol, and these men groomed by being people seemingly interested in them and their lives, and offering them lifts when at the time it was bus or taxi to get where they were going because their parents either didn't drive or weren't around.
Things turned bad fairly quickly, but still there was food and lifts to and from wherever they had to go.

So whilst it doesn't make for an easy life for us, we're probably a little bit over involved, but it does mean there are no strange adults around "keeping an eye on" DD.

BlowingInTheWind82 · 02/11/2023 07:57

@changeitbacknow 100%, I experienced this growing up. I wasn’t allowed out as much as my cousin’s - they really suffered at the hands of older Asian men. I remember my friend’s dad offering me Vodka and coke in a can, similarly in a corner shop while his wife and daughter’s were in the back.

There were also the 25 year old I spent a lot of intimate time with when I was 14, they weren’t part of a gang as far as I was aware they were just individually predatory. I was seen as easy as my parents were more liberal.

The elders in our community would remind us every week to be careful, telling us how we might be viewed by Pakistani Muslim men in our City.

Our parents would be lectured to not let us out, for them to protect us. Week on week we’d be told about ‘another girl’ who had left her home, converted etc. it was amazing what we could get away with even with parents who kept a very watchful eye on us!

Why do you say this?

Towerofsong · 02/11/2023 08:09

TintinHadToBeMale · 01/11/2023 07:21

Because it’s not the teens doing the crimes (except for older male youths doing drug running and getting in with the gangs). It’s not the girls doing the crimes. It’s men.

I did not see, as a teenager, why I should be locked up and imprisoned and my every move tracked because men are criminal, manipulative and lying shits. I was not the criminal. The extreme of this line of thought, I might remind people, is Afghanistan and Iran.

Men are the problem.

A secondary problem is the lack of a working economy which offers nothing to many people but a culture of drugs and prostitution. It hasn’t always been as bad as this.

It's men but it's also men who are raised to view all women not of the same religion /background as sluts who are fair game. It's disgusting.

Charley50 · 02/11/2023 08:47

Link to a thread about the gov. data on grooming gangs.. x.com/anglesonwalter/status/1719785958873198763?s=46&t=kXRlqqD5Drdrjf2O0gKgpQ
Apparently it wasn't aggregated for percentage of population. When it is, it's clear which group offends at far higher rates.
Of course men of all ethnicities rape girls, but grooming gangs are a specific type.

alongcameboo · 02/11/2023 08:57

Just look at the fucking state of them. No self respecting woman would give any of them a 1st glance, let alone a 2nd so they have to resort to sexually abusing and raping children. Absolute fuckers.

"They're dirty, filthy bastards who should be wired to the mains."

@WhoBrokeIt But you could add 'whilst they're sat in the bath'.

Naunet · 02/11/2023 08:59

The white working class struggle? FGS a large slice of the white male working class spent much of their Friday and Saturday nights beating up their wives and/or children after coming home drunk [source: any number of Police and medical reports of the last 150 yrs]. Hardly a superior "culture"

Racist drivel and romanticised rubbish.

Edited

Within a culture that has also got women’s refuges, which I know are under threat, are they better than men from a culture where they are fully enabled to attack and kill girls on the street who don’t have a scarf on their head?

I guess you remember or know nothing about the miners’ strikes. This destruction and debasement of the economy is exactly what they were fighting against.
