...before all the weight loss, then she has since?

I don't get why she's so celebrated as a style icon for being skinny. She was lovely and had beautiful facial features in her early fame days

She's been a stick for years. No idea if stories of her eating very little & the same foods for years are true but if so it's very sad. Life is there to enjoy

Perhaps she enjoys being thin.

Not everyone makes food the basis of their life's enjoyment

ChocolateCakeOverspill · 31/10/2023 06:36

Is this for real or is someone just bored because it’s half term? Feels like such a cliche way to whip up strong feelings.

Just as a suggestion for your next one OP, how about women shouldn’t go to work when they have kids or only terrible parents formula feed.

I feel sorry for her with the Rebecca Loos being dragged up again, it can't be easy for her being reminded of it all.

If I was Victoria I wouldn’t care. They’ve got through it. Married for 20+ years, four children, great life. I’d say Rebecca who??

Mumtobabyhavoc · 31/10/2023 06:36

Wow - another thread bashing a woman's appearance and age. What a revelation. 👏

Soonenough · 31/10/2023 06:38

Personally I think her WAG days were her best look . The hair ! The bags carried on the crook of her arm.

Am I the only person who thinks Victoria Beckham looked better in her early Spice Girl days...
Sheeponacid · 31/10/2023 06:39

There are some absolutely disgusting posters here, scrutinising and speculating about different parts of a woman's body like she was an animal at the auction mart. Seriously, have a word with yourselves.

AllWeWantToDo · 31/10/2023 00:22

Yeah, poor women who had her 10 mins of fame because she snagged a married footballer and is now back giving interviews. She's obviously moved on from it all 🙄

The Beckhams made yet another pile of cash with the very carefully crafted documentary. Made entirely by David's company and completely stage managed.
I don't blame Rebecca for accepting a few of the pile of offers she would have been besieged with.
She has a family to think of too.
It was all abit of a non story though. I hardly think she was 'disrespected' or 'blamed' at all. But they had to talk about something.

sollenwir · 31/10/2023 06:41

I personally feel she did overdo the skinny look, but it's her life and if she's happy then it's up to her. Regardless of her body shape she's still someone who cannot sing yet became famous for being in one of the best ever girl bands so......

Shutthedoormargaret · 31/10/2023 06:43

I do wonder if she would have lost so much weight if it wasn't for the pressure of the 90s and 2000s culture. If her eating (if true) habits are a personal preference then that's her choice, but I can't help but feel it may have been a result of the body shaming of that time. She did indeed look beautiful in that before picture and if it was taken today, would be praised and admired.

There is a video on insta/tik tok that keeps doing the rounds of clips from the 2000s of women being shamed for their weight/bodies in the media.VB is quizzed by chris Evans on TFI Friday I think about being back to her pre pregnancy weight and asks to put her on the scales. It's bloody shocking (but also explains why I've felt fat my whole life despite always being a healthy weight).

Tighginn · 31/10/2023 06:44

The stress of all of David's illegitimate children...

camelfinger · 31/10/2023 06:30

Possibly a better way of putting it is that she looked better 30 years ago than she did 28 years ago. She got significantly thinner a few years into being famous.

How is that better

Princessconsuelabananahammock9 · 31/10/2023 06:54

This thread is icky.

We should not be picking apart women's bodies.

InsomniacA · 31/10/2023 06:58

@isittoolatetosay : you are a terrible person.

Wolvesart · 30/10/2023 23:52

It worries me they they are presented as such successful types. 3 boys left private and expensive education and not a university degree in the offing. Her dress sense classy, her children not so much

Wow. Nasty

Castlerock44 · 31/10/2023 06:58

Not a single "celebrity" takes up my head space. I have zero interest in people I don't know. Hopefully this obsession we have with "celebs" will die a natural death.

The sooner we realise they're no better or worse than any of us, the better.

Completely agree. I think the Spice Girls were the one if the first girl bands that the press and wider society obsessed about how they looked and they were under an enormous amount of pressure to look right. Despite the girl power message they were meant to be projecting. Mel C has spoke at lengths about her eating disorder and how she was constantly called the "ugly" one of the group so had to control her weight at all costs.

theduchessofspork · 31/10/2023 07:02

Well she lost all that weight in an era where being very thin was the thing

I don’t think her being very thin has much to do with her being a style icon now - it’s about what she wears and how she wears it, and her look having got embedded in the culture over the years (like say Anna Wintour).

Biasquia · 31/10/2023 07:02

I am a couple of years younger than VB. she looked better than I did twenty years ago and she looks better than me now. Nothing has changed there.

Unitedthebest · 31/10/2023 07:15

Then don’t do the big documentary 🤷‍♀️( and I’m a big Beckham fan)

Dibbydoos · 31/10/2023 07:19

I think we need to stop judging women on the basis of kooks.

End of.

I really like VB as a person, she always comes across as a typical brit with common sense and a sense of humour.

CiderJolly · 31/10/2023 07:24

It is a bitchy thread and you should care, I’m assuming you’re a mum? Would you like people talking about your child like this? I’m sure Victoria Beckham is used to it but it doesn’t mean it’s right. You’re just adding more shite into the world with this thread.

She was beautiful then and she is beautiful now.

Yellowishstone · 31/10/2023 07:26

Just don't comment on strangers appearance and make judgements about how they look.

Same here. I've also read she's got an amazing sense of humour. Love her style.

Sundance03 · 31/10/2023 07:35

Skinny shaming at its finest, I've a very similar build and shape to VB except am shorter. I do a lot of sports. I am actually so fed up of people commenting on OW bodies..... Its literally no one else's business.

Lampzade · 31/10/2023 07:37

Why is it always women whose looks are critiqued.
Why not focus on David Beckam’s looks.?
He looked better twenty years ago.
