...before all the weight loss, then she has since?

I don't get why she's so celebrated as a style icon for being skinny. She was lovely and had beautiful facial features in her early fame days

I'm about the same age as her and she looks much better than me.. Good on her for having the discipline to do it.

Shakespeareandi · 31/10/2023 04:06

Stop caring and judging what other people look like. Focus your life on good things and highlight positives. Your negative opinion of another woman's body is really dated. A PP said it comes with the territory of being famous; says who? We should all stop judging other people's bodies and appearances.

Bbq1 · 31/10/2023 04:14

Bu all accounts VB"s eating is disordered. I believe she exists purely on fish and vegetables in order to maintain her extremely thin body. On her birthday she had a birthday cake made mostly of veg. How joyless. The worrying thing here is the seriously messed up message that she is giving ti her daughter re food restriction, weight and body image.

The thing is VB obviously thinks she looks much bettwr than she did atvher natural body weight years ago. She hasn't put weight on, she restricts and heavily controls her own diet to stay underweight which is a very unhealthy way of living.

Quitelikeacatslife · 31/10/2023 04:25

The woman has been under public scrutiny since she was a teenager. If you got photographed and your weight discussed and analyses every time you went out then if you had her resources you'd maybe take the path she has. She's moved from music to fashion as an industry, even more relentless and anti fat .

Lesleyknopeswaffleiron · 31/10/2023 04:28

God, women are awful to each other

iloveeverykindofcat · 31/10/2023 04:33

How about we stop picking other women's bodies apart? Her body, her life, her business. I was a healthy weight in my twenties and now I'm underweight. There are reasons, mostly anxiety and stress related. I'm sure some people think I looked better then but people have been kind enough not to say it except at one point when I really was seriously underweight and going through a bad time at work. Can we just leave this 'she's too big/she's too skinny' in the 2000s where it belongs?

She's not unwell though. It's a choice. Maybe it is her body etc etc but what about the messages she is giving her daughter? Or is it a case of her daughter so, raising her with an unhealthy relationship with food and her body is her choice too?

SnowyPetals · 31/10/2023 04:53

She's nearly 50 and looks great. Personally I think she looks better now, carrying her life experience and maturity than as younger and fresh faced.

LuckyCats · 31/10/2023 05:15

If she’s not unwell how is she modelling unhealthy?
Surely if she’s not unwell she is well, she certainly looks well to me, maybe she’s mentally well enough to know how to bring up children, all her sons seem fine and healthy, other than the fact they’ve not got a degree between them 🙃 her daughter looks very healthy and happy and loved, they’ve made a nice life, both doing, working, living and eating how they want, kids mostly grown up, marriage still going strong after ups and downs.
Women should be supporting other women, stop being jealous of women thinner or prettier than you or women who got on without the degree, it’s not a good look and it doesn’t improve your life.
you want a degree go get one, you want to be thin stop eating so much and start working out, if you want a happy healthy relationship work on yourself and your boundaries.
Dragging other women online or elsewhere is not going to improve your life at all it’s just really unpleasant.
VB is probably one of the least offensive women ever to live so long in the public eye, she’s never hurt anyone, by what I’ve seen she’s a good mum and loyal wife, I doubt she’d be on many peoples favourites list either tbf but shes just living her life, most of us looked better in our 20s than 40s this post is just jealous band nasty

Bunnycat101 · 31/10/2023 05:40

She has obviously been very controlled with her diet but so will everyone in her circle so it will seem normal. I do think it’s unfair to then talk about example to the children when none of the four have ever looked underweight.

Ihaterhymingrabbit · 31/10/2023 06:11

Hate this thread, such cliche bitching about another woman’s appearance.

It’s 2023 we need to move past this shit.

When someone in my office comments on another woman’s appearance or weight gain/loss it makes my toes curl and think less of the person saying it. I brush over it quickly.

PunjabiGirl · 31/10/2023 06:11

Lovely misogynistic thread 👍🏼

crumblylancs · 31/10/2023 06:13

What a shitty thread 🙄 imagine having a load of random women on the internet pick your body and face apart unnecessarily.

How about you post pics of yourself now and 20/30 years ago and we all judge whether you looked better then than you do now?

This.

Would love to look how she looks. I think the move from slim to toned works well for her.

fluffypotatoes · 31/10/2023 06:22

What a mean sprited thread

malificent7 · 31/10/2023 06:23

Well she was stunning then and stunning now. If anything it's better to stay thin for health reasons.

fluffypotatoes · 31/10/2023 06:23

Though am heartened to see lots of replies agreeing it's not really on

SnowyPetals · 31/10/2023 06:25

Not everyone gets "joy" from eating processed sugary crap. I don't eat cake because it makes me put on weight. I get more "joy" from being healthy than I do from stuffing my face with cake.

TheaBrandt · 31/10/2023 06:29

Some people genuinely get little pleasure from food. A friend is like that she is also enviably slim. On the one hand aesthetically it’s great but I would still like to be someone that gets pleasure from food even though it means a larger arse.

camelfinger · 31/10/2023 06:30

Possibly a better way of putting it is that she looked better 30 years ago than she did 28 years ago. She got significantly thinner a few years into being famous.

Fairyliz · 31/10/2023 06:31

I take it you are not quite the size you would like to be op? You could always take tips from VB rather than knock her down to make yourself feel better.
