Or should tv stop giving Rebecca Loos airtime?

Disgusted that Rebecca Loos has been invited on Good Morning Britain to comment ( not the first time ) on the Beckham documentary. The Beckham documentary is 1% about the time she popped up in his narrative and its not authentic to make a show like that without including details of something like the affair with Rebecca that made so many headlines at the time. That said both Victoria and David addressed it respectfully, never named her and didn't really say anything remarkable or ground breaking at the time. For her to now be given TV time about how much it annoys her that it was spoken about is despicable. I'd imagine it's worse for his wife to revisit than her, she just seems so very nasty and bitter. Aibu or should this sort of weird media circus not be on television?

Yabu - I really respect how much she's banging on about it instead of reflecting on the hurt she played a part in and staying quiet.
Yanbu - why is this on our television and why are we paying someone with their morals in the gutter to say their bit?

Didn’t she sell her story all those years ago? I’m not 100% on this but if she did then she has absolutely no right to privacy on this matter.

I haven’t watched the documentary or seen her interview, but it’s unlikely she’s asking for privacy.

I think it’s more a case of now they’ve reminded her and the public he had this affair- she’s happy to talk about it again as much as he is.

Cos she'd have a story to sell if a married man could keep his dick in his pants?

sparklefresh · 30/10/2023 20:06

They dragged it up, for money (as if they don't have enough). She didn't break her marriage vows, and deserves a right of reply. He cheated, she didn't. The Beckhams' whole brand is about their perfect marriage and it's a lie.

jammyhand · 30/10/2023 20:07

If the original was news and then you had some 3rd rate celeb coming on to say their piece it would be out of place yes. But it's reality TV (the V+B show) + reality TV (her interview) so what's the issue?? It's like complaining that Paris Hilton got invited to talk about the Kardashians

@Lampzade true although it was 20 years ago so it's fair she needs to give it a rest and focus on her sons... imagine making a joke you've had an affair with the "English version of messi" I don't find it funny at all. If I was RL husband I'd be furious. She can't force David to admit he shagged her... we get it and most of us believe her. What is she achieving? I don't get that part.

FloofCloud · 30/10/2023 20:51

@PrimaniTu - don't get me wrong I feel very little for her, never been a fan and think there's no real talent there ... but he's basically found himself in a whirlwind of entitlement and open doors (read legs!) and more .. she's stayed with him (stupid!) ... so much gossip which, as we all know, there's no smoke etc .., and looking like a complete pushover twat ... however ... I'd have gone with divorce lawyer rather than brand Beckham ... but we all make our beds I guess
No love lost for VB tho I guess she's made plenty of cash ... I'd consider a shit life tho

Nobody made her shag a man she knew was married, both to blame.

Yes that woman being Rebecca... neither of them cared😂my thread is actually about not giving the shit she's saying airtime not who was to blame for the affair

I think that's how the rich people and their PR skew the fact that they're ... 'fill in the blank here ...'

I doubt she was his first and I doubt she'll be his last.

No one who earns money masturbating a pig on tv, stripping off for magazines, photoshoots etc on the back of an affair with a famous person, should get any publicity whatsoever. I have no interest in her or in hearing about the relationship with Beckham. I'm not a fan of his. Just not interested.
My view is we have really got to stop all of this encouraging these talentless people to do more and more things for the Press that expose them and their lives. She is famous for shagging Beckham, masturbating a pig and stripping for photos- it's just sordid.
Our Press and tv should be higher quality not producing squalid crap like this. It says a great deal about the people who read and watch this 'celeb' crap. Mindlessly moronic.

Her behaviour after was on her.

I am coming off this thread now people as I have work to do but interesting to see responses. Some will have to agree to disagree with but I stand by it that in summary David and Rebecca are both to blame for their behaviour at the time, both knew it was hurtful and wrong. I don't think David and Victoria can win with their programme by not or choosing to mention Rebecca and how they did was fine. I accept she has the right to defend herself, I don't accept that she should do it repeatedly when the backlash that neither D nor V caused or can help has died down with the programme being released a little while now. I also think you do things like that you know people will react strongly and mumsnet has a strange group of people who think the OW is a victim in their own right and apportioning any blame on them somehow rids the male party of their part in it when it doesn't. I feel so sorry for Victoria and I'm so glad her and David have got past it. I also think Rebecca is bitter about that hence the anger and repeated tv appearances but tbh I don't really care that much, I just hope Victoria and their kids are okay and Rebecca leaves them alone now she's said her bit again and again

Oh give over.

I am thinking that you are far too invested in defending the Beckhams. You started this thread and some of it has backfired, much to your annoyance.

LOL I'm not annoyed you pillock? Just because I have an opinion and have expressed it...It's a thread not a debate in the houses of Parliament😂I don't expect everyone to agree or I wouldn't start a discussion on it, if you don't like it maybe steer clear of mumsnet you won't always agree with what you see on here. Also how has it backfired LOL I'm not personally affected by it am I I'm just discussing

Do you really think V and D ‘got over it’ and are now happily married? He’s a serial shagger and I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t have someone else. Everything they do is for their ‘brand’ and money.

True, I hope they did as I'd hope any couple had got over this it must be awful. So long ago now too

@SwiftieGrainger I think she's resentful of the fact they they stayed together and she was a seemingly insignificant blight on their marriage, again is trying to bait Victoria with her goading interviews.

You clearly don't like her and you see everything through that hate filled lens. No idea why you carry such strong feelings about woman you don't know.
She is generally thought of as a decent woman living a good life with her family and with no interest in the limelight. Most comments I have seen have commended her in her class and dignity. You clearly see something else. I think you are way over invested. He cheated. They have now produced a PR spectacular oooops I mean documentary where they brought it up. She's not the problem here

You're right I don't😂I don't hate her though so please don't suggest I hate anyone as you don't know me, but I do think her actions are distasteful. I don't know who the general public are that you're referring to but I started this thread after a discussion in a group of people with her clip from good morning Britain shown, nobody thought what you've decided everyone thinks above. I think she is the problem, absolutely no need to do multiple tv appearances when you've already sold the story and done many interviews years ago. Yeah she responded to the documentary, once is fine but it's more than that. Also I'd never call someone who knowingly slept with a married man decent let alone the full blown affair. I'm not over invested this is the only conversation I've ever had about her in my life lol but I stand by my views, nothing I've seen on this thread has changed them.

To be fair to Rebecca Loos, it was the Beckam’s who reignited interest in the whole tawdry affair. As a result Rebecca Loos received a great deal of hate on social media
She is well within her rights to defend herself whatever your views on her ‘affair with DB

I wholeheartedly agree with this. They alluded to to it in their highly curated documentary so surely she has the right to reply and defend herself.

Absolutely and as always it's the woman that comes out of it the worst, what a surprise 🙄

TurquoiseDress · 30/10/2023 23:39

Hang on a minute, it's the Beckhams who brought all this up again as part of their Netflix documentary- I've not seen this as I don't have Netflix (no intention of signing up)

Surely she has the right to defend herself/reply?

Meh I can't get too worked up about it, so he had an affair 20 odd years ago, would never admit to it, then they bring up in their documentary...fair play RL gets a chance to share her side of the story!

Wow, so much hatred for a woman who I assume you don't know because she had an affair with a football player. Very odd, move on.

SwiftieGrainger · 30/10/2023 23:44

They didn't name her, it was short and sweet and focused more on the hurt that was caused to Victoria. Victoria was still devastated even now. The comments here are all quite similar but on other places the video is shown such as Tik Tik etc they're the polar opposite. I suppose different people see different things but I can't see what good can come from the interviews she has done. She seems to complain that Victoria suffered in one of them.with the daily mail where she talks about how she would talk to Victoria when the affair was starting and its all very shameless, no accountability at all. I didn't watch it all though as it was quite depressing 😂
