Or should tv stop giving Rebecca Loos airtime?

Disgusted that Rebecca Loos has been invited on Good Morning Britain to comment ( not the first time ) on the Beckham documentary. The Beckham documentary is 1% about the time she popped up in his narrative and its not authentic to make a show like that without including details of something like the affair with Rebecca that made so many headlines at the time. That said both Victoria and David addressed it respectfully, never named her and didn't really say anything remarkable or ground breaking at the time. For her to now be given TV time about how much it annoys her that it was spoken about is despicable. I'd imagine it's worse for his wife to revisit than her, she just seems so very nasty and bitter. Aibu or should this sort of weird media circus not be on television?

Yabu - I really respect how much she's banging on about it instead of reflecting on the hurt she played a part in and staying quiet.
Yanbu - why is this on our television and why are we paying someone with their morals in the gutter to say their bit?

She proudly made her entire career about having an affair with a married man, and she is desperately trying to milk it again to keep her 2 seconds of fame.

That says it all about her doesn't it.

HappyHolloween · 02/11/2023 12:19

Why no aggro for Beckham? He was the one that was married but it’s apparently ok for him to talk about in his documentary and made millions from it?

she should get something, the media circus ruined her life at the time and now the Beckham have CHOSEN to bring it up. There was no obligation for them to discuss it. The fact that they didn’t even mention her name I actually thought was pretty disgusting.

no one likes the other woman but equal, if not more, scorn should be laid on him.

OP has been talking about the affair longer than RL now 😂

🤣🤣🤣🤣

stormteacupandcake · 02/11/2023 12:26

I am not sure Beckham can be accused to try to raise publicity over his relationship, whatever it was, with Rebecca Loos 😂

The fact that they didn’t even mention her name I actually thought was pretty disgusting.
why would they mention the name at all?

HappyHolloween · 02/11/2023 12:30

SwiftieGrainger · 31/10/2023 00:54

Out of interest have you watched her interviews and the documentary? It's worth a watch if not.

I thought you didn’t want her to have the air time?

if people like you don’t watch this crap then they don’t make it. Ffs.

Edited

Because they decided to bring the issue up. She is a human being.
why bother to mention it all if it’s so painful/embarrassing/secret
it was an extremely barbed, disrespectful way to address it.
they never once acknowledged the harm that occurred to her as a result of the episode.

stormteacupandcake · 02/11/2023 13:16

she's the one who went public and make a "career" as a z-list celeb out of it, no one forced her to.

She's not wanting sympathy, she's wanting followers on her social and air time.

Americano75 · 02/11/2023 13:25

Maybe she just wants another crack at wanking off pigs again?

sunglassesonthetable · 02/11/2023 14:37

'Her entire career'. What the yoga bit?

sunglassesonthetable · 02/11/2023 14:38

The Beckhams - and their spoilt, directionless, grown-up offspring - have showcased their banality all over social media and beyond for years.

Hilarious you know all about the 'banal ' kids from social media.

sunglassesonthetable · 02/11/2023 14:46

Because the truth of the thing is you don't really know them. @cocolocopocos

Your criticism sounds very bitter given they were born into their privilege without having a choice, it's ridiculous to berate them for that.

Whether they have direction or not is neither here nor there. Millions of young people have no direction nor older ones for that matter. And they are still very young.

David Beckham cheated on Victoria with RL in 2004. Since 2009 RL has been living in Norway married to a doctor and working as a yoga teacher and massage therapist.

Not sure how you get 'her whole career' from the 5 year span after David Beckham cheated on his wife with her. It's been over a decade of her happily living a normal life not courting any limelight.

Do you think she had a wide number of sparkling careers open to her after she was sacked in disgrace? Her experience was as a PA, but the publicity would have made her unemployable. She couldn’t suddenly conjure up qualifications in a new field and change direction, and I’m sure she would have had bills to pay - she had a choice of the dole for the foreseeable future, or getting as much cash together as she could to live on until it all died down.

With no doubt constant offers of huge sums from the media and nothing else on the horizon (plus wanting to state her case, no doubt she’d been taken in by the usual lines of “I’m in love with you, we’re only together for the image/brand/children, Victoria wouldn’t even care” etc.) I don’t blame her in the circumstances. Like a previous poster said though, play shitty games, get shitty prizes.

I doubt Victoria would entertain it.

PrimaniTu · 02/11/2023 15:24

I reckon that to make the "documentary" a bit more interesting and juicy Netflix probably wanted a bit of controversy and gave the Beckham's the option of skirting round the Loos episode or his Qatar deal - I reckon he went for the lesser of two evils. Grin

Nothing in that doc happened by accident.

Or the office job too? Hasn’t she been out of the public eye for 20 years until… oh yes, until the rich powerful man commented on it again in a Netflix documentary celebrating him and everything he’s done for his whole life with all of those people talking about how amazing and wonderful he is. Oh yes, poor guy.

stormteacupandcake · 03/11/2023 10:13

Rebecca Loo has only been out of the public eye because the public doesn't care. She's been popping up now and again, trying to raise her public profile, but obviously no one seemed interested as she disappeared again.

Allegations of an affair with David Beckham would have closed doors of very conservative work environments, where she didn't work anyway, it would have made no difference for her work opportunities.

She's the one who went public with the whole thing anyway, she's hardly the victim. She tried to cash in on it, didn't work, why should people give her any sympathy.

I do feel very sorry for her children, you'd think she would have wanted to keep a dignified silence if only for their sakes, but she has different priorities.

We can only judge on her public actions and her decisions.

I don't think she's said she's a victim. I think she's challenged her right to have a voice.

Interesting that you don't challenge DB's right to have a voice.

She has a voice, it's just sad she's given attention. She has done nothing, accomplished nothing (unless you count the interaction with the pig mentioned above), I have the right to think her "claim to fame" is embarrassing and to feel very sorry for her children, and her husband.

Tinklyheadtilt · 03/11/2023 12:25

She is defending herself after the Beckhams opened up the can of worms again on the documentary.

Beckham is a notorious sh**ger outside his marriage (you would not believe the stories I have heard) so I blame him a lot more than her.

Well she has a squeak of a voice to the volume of DB who has a huge and powerful voice. And he's using his. Perhaps that's ok because he's very good at football.

He said one thing she says the other. She has every right to put her side of the record straight if she feels misrepresented.

You don't have to be rich and famous ( or talented ) to be allowed to do that. It's not just for the accomplished.

You think what you like. We all do surely?

Perhaps the person to feel sorry for in all this is VB. Who very possibly got betrayed by her husband.

Victoria has absolutely the right to express HER voice.

Rebecca wouldn't have to "defend herself" if she had not sold her stories, and the rest of it back then.

Beckham is whatever he is, but gossips and "stories" have nothing to do with his actual skills and career.

In a world when people get famous for their sex tape, for manhandling a pig, for parading in see-through dresses and wet bikinis to get a husband, and whatever other sexual activity all the Z-list are known for, I have a bit more sympathy for people who actually achieved something and were famous for their accomplishment.

ElevenSeven · 03/11/2023 12:51

God some fans are really obsessive aren’t they

Cannot see any faults in their idols

ArcaneWireless · 03/11/2023 17:51

Quite.

As said RL manhandled a pig alright.

The other one kept his snout out of it.
