I think the shaming is very much directed at the leggings.

OP has also admitted that she thinks body shaming is deserved.

Posters can bitch about an item of clothing as fashion does change with the times but it’s nasty to bitch about someone’s actual body.

I have lots of pairs of these. One of the pairs is also beige, which I'm sure you'll also shudder at the thought of!

I wear them for the gym because I think they look good, I'm body confident, and when I feel like I look good I'm more productive at the gym. They don't make me feel any more 'exposed' than normal leggings. If anything they're more comfortable than normal leggings for squatting, because they don't bunch up/have to stretch as much in awkward places. They don't make my ass any more sweaty.

I also only ever wear thongs so maybe I'm used to the sensation

There are plenty of things I see on a daily basis that I think are hideous. I'm 27, and have plenty friends who also wear them - it's a generational thing. What's the need for the judgement? We all have different tastes - be a boring world if we didn't! 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m 24, go to the gym often and think they’re awful. I haven’t seen one person they look good on because they’re not nice at all. If it makes you feel more confident then go for it, doesn’t mean people won’t have an opinion on the style

I didn't know these were special leggings, I just thought some women at my gym have fabulous bums. I'm a straight woman but it's hard not to sneak a look in body pump!

On that basis, YABU. I'd never wear them in a million years but the women I've sent wearing them IRL look great.
