Would be such a shame not to continue the discussion.

@EasternStandard if providing evidence and calling out people is me being unpleasant then yup, I'm a right bitch. Personally I think propping up a system that deliberately causes harm is a lot worse!

As I said the pp didn’t want to know

So I didn’t waste my time

All good 🤷‍♂️

If you or they want to google. Go for it I’m sure you’re capable.

TooBigForMyBoots · 27/10/2023 12:22

Wales, like the rest of the Devolved regions and England is suffering because the Tories in Westminster inflicted Austerity and fucked the entire UK economy with Brexit and Trussterfuck economics.

You keep saying this bollocks about not wanting to know when you know perfectly well you’ve taken it out of context and that isn’t what happened. For some reason you take exception to being asked for evidence of what you’re saying and think people are being “nasty” when they’re politely asking you to back up your argument with facts.

EasternStandard · 27/10/2023 12:27

Ignoring more of the same in pp

@Enterthewolves who did you vote for at last GE out of interest?

Enterthewolves · 27/10/2023 12:28

@EasternStandard google it

Lol

Was it Corbyn?

I’ve asked a few times and oddly no one says yes. Even the most committed Labour supporters

DuncinToffee · 27/10/2023 12:47

Technically, only people living in Islington North could vote for Corbyn but can we assume you voted for Johnson then @EasternStandard ?

Notonthestairs · 27/10/2023 12:48

I guess if you view Johnson as a victim rather than as a man caught out by his own poor choices you might still be proud of voting for him. Personally I view his influence on the Conservative Party as a something akin to a wrecking ball damaging the party perhaps beyond repair.

I voted L/D thanks.

verdantverdure · 27/10/2023 12:54

My friend just sent me the clip of the chap on Question Time last night who said that he'd been voting Conservative for 45 years but never again because the Conservative Party have treated this country with contempt.

She was sent it by her father who is still a party member as far as I know, used to be a Conservative councillor, and has actively campaigned for many other Conservative candidates.

He wants advice on this "tactical voting" he's been hearing about. Grin

I have zero regrets keeping out an antisemite Hamas friend out of power.

What about you did you want Corbyn in?

That's not an answer to the question I asked

Corbyn would have been better than Johnson imo

Well thank god the electorate didn’t see it your way.

Dangerous antisemitic pro terrorist views are not for me.

I haven’t always voted for the same party but I generally vote for a major one. I don’t owe you my voting record though, for whatever reason you feel you should have it.

Why did you ask Enterthewolves voting record then?

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Enterthewolves · 27/10/2023 13:06

@EasternStandard oh I see, you don't owe anyone your voting record but you think it is ok to ask other people. Just like your preferred party double standards seem to be your place of comfort.

I voted tactically to try and ensure that the bunch of self serving, kleptocrats we currently have in power were kicked out. In my ward we got who I voted for and I'm happy with my decision.

How's your decision working out for you? Probably fine, it seems you vote on self interest and from what you've said so far that seems to have worked for you. Not so great for the rest of the people in the country though, especially those with lower incomes, children in schools with RAAC, people with health problems that they can't get met privately, farmers, people with businesses that exported to Europe or anyone who doesn't want to live in a planet that's burning hey?

EasternStandard · 27/10/2023 13:07

I’m yet to see anyone state they voted for Corbyn

Took a chance they might be the first to say

People can answer or not. Fine by me.

LakieLady · 27/10/2023 13:07

I live somewhere that has a Cat C prison with a capacity of around 900 and employed a lot of staff locally. They've all taken early retirement or got better jobs, and the prison is really struggling to recruit.

Because it's an area of high house prices, no-one can afford to live here on prison officer's wages, and commuting is challenging because there's minimal staff parking and parking anywhere close by is hideously expensive or hard to find.

I don't live in Corbyn's constituency so I couldn't vote for him.

TeenLifeMum · 27/10/2023 13:13

I’m not supporting the Torys but I also remember the last Labour government and the financial impact it had on my family as I was growing up. Bad decision and unaffordable decisions abound. It’s hard to know who to vote for when you respect none of them.

bombastix · 27/10/2023 13:14

The latest average poll (politico makes a poll of polls) indicate that the gap between Labour and the Conservatives is now 46 points to 26 points.

That is no improvement at all for Sunak after a year of being PM.

It's clear that the Cons are good at engaging people who already support them but not very good at moving to get central voters. It's not a mystery why particularly, but it is odd. It is like they don't want to win.

EasternStandard · 27/10/2023 13:14

Love the answers. There are many who don’t perhaps we could get to end of thread.

Generally when people go on about the wrong decision made then it’s ok to look at the alternative.

A bad one. Particularly with the conflict now and his antisemitic views.

Who is likely to win in your constituency?
