Partly for fun but also kinda serious also. I tend not to be able to do lots of stuff which give examples of below and so I often feel useless but shrug it off. Pls ask questions of what I can do and I'll answer

I CANT

Open a tin with a can opener
Sew knit crochet etc
Cook very well (basic)
Clean very well (basic)
Blow balloons

And now I'm sat here with a list I can't think of lots but ask away and I'll answer

OP posts:

No she isn't she asked one question? Which you havent really answered.

VeridicalVagabond · 17/10/2023 19:08

Don't tell people to ask you questions and then tell them to go away when they ask you questions 🙄

Maybe add "can't handle being asked completely normal questions" to your list?

I honestly don't think she is.

devildeepbluesea · 17/10/2023 19:09

Er, no she’s not.

As a perfectly competent single woman I also tend to get a bit het up at these sort of threads. If I can’t do something I bloody well learn how to do it.

She / He etc really isn’t.

zengarden1 · 17/10/2023 19:00

@newamsterdam that's not the point of the post

Well, what is?

You posted in AIBU, and you are very unreasonable. And rude

Lulubetsy · 17/10/2023 19:11

I can't whistle out,can only whistle in.

Turquoisa80 · 17/10/2023 19:11

Cleaning and cooking is subjective, as long as you can make basic things and clear clutter, then your halfway there. Tin opener can be mastered when you learn the mechanics of how it work. Basically just mess around and if anyone judges, they deserve a hard faced stare

AutumIsOrange · 17/10/2023 19:12

I do get it OP; you started this thread in the spirit of ‘fun’ but given that changing a lightbulb is pretty straightforward for most people without a physical disability, you were bound to get asked about it and the point of your thread.

BreadandButterDinners · 17/10/2023 19:12

I can't
Drive
Do macrame
Do plaits or braids in my DDs hair

Can you do these things Op?

HeyMicky · 17/10/2023 19:14

This site sometimes.

I can't:

Hem trousers - I can sew pretty well but every time I need to hem something I have to reteach myself

Knit or crochet (same, I can never remember from one time to the next what I need to do)

Rollerblade, although I can ice skate and roller skate

Correctly type "environment" first go - some weird muscle memory means I have to correct myself every time

Remember the rules to card games

zengarden1 · 17/10/2023 19:06

@Isittimeformynapyet please go or I will report u

Report them for what? Asking you a simple question? In your post, you simply asked people to ask you questions.

ShittyGlitter · 17/10/2023 19:15

French braid things
crochet

I’ve tried, I’ll learn it someday!

NinaGeiger · 17/10/2023 19:15

I can't blow up a balloon either

JamieFrasersBitOnTheSide · 17/10/2023 19:17

What an odd thread.

Freetodowhatiwant · 17/10/2023 19:18

I get it OP. I am good with tin opener but relate to the rest of the list. Of course it’s not ‘can’t’ completely but don’t feel good at it. I will add fold clothes and hang up clothes to your list. Stuff falls off and my hands just don’t feel like they work properly enough to fold things. I have considered dyspraxia and possibly (for other reasons too of course) ADD. I also don’t ‘see’ things. My brain skips things that other people see, again mainly to fo with practical things in the home. All of the above is quite challenging for a single parent and the only adult in the house! Of course there are plenty of things I am good at, work related, languages and much more but I totally get you about there being things I ‘can’t’ do that other people find so easy.

CalistoNoSolo · 17/10/2023 19:19

You sound annoyingly and deliberately incompetent. No idea what the point of your thread is either.

itsmyp4rty · 17/10/2023 19:19

I can't use a knife and fork 'properly'.

nozbottheblue · 17/10/2023 19:21

Can I ask a question? What would you do if "hubby" wasn't there to do these things for you? Are there things you do for him in return?
Nobody is born knowing how to do any of these things, they all have to be learned.
I don't find this thread fun at all, but rather annoying.

Then why don't you just move along.

Jesus Christ why doesn't everyone that's making a huge fuss over a light hearted thread move along to the 'pile on' thread and read about yourselves on there.

WhiskerPatrol · 17/10/2023 19:21

YABU to post this here and to show off about lacking basic life skills.

FuckingHellAdele · 17/10/2023 19:22

OP doesn't want to know what other people can't do, we're supposed to ask what the OP also can't do.

Such 'fun'.

sparklefresh · 17/10/2023 19:23

Ilikealltings · 17/10/2023 19:05

Hmm weaponised incompetence i think

A bit of this, yes.

Isittimeformynapyet · 17/10/2023 19:24

I'm still here ...... shhhhh! 🤫

Where is the light heartedness? The boasting about not being able to do the very basics of life, and then being rude to anyone who asked a simple question?
Where's the fun?
