To wonder who left wing Jews should vote for?

I had this chat with my adult kids tonight as as left wing Jews, we've got no idea who we will vote for.

We don't really agree with Tory economic ideas, we believe in equitable distribution of resources. We appreciate Tories are generally supportive of Jews, but find they're hostile to other minorities. Maybe I could bring myself to vote Tory if there was a milder option, like John Major, but I don't think I could vote for this lot.

We think the left is in the thralls of an antisemitic nervous breakdown to a point of being a very uncomfortable, so that's a deal breaker for us. And while we're extremely socially liberal, we think the stuff has gone a bit far and basic common sense has left the building.

Who will you be voting for?

The reality is, the right of the Labour Party are ruthless as fuck and will do anything for power and control of the party. If that means weaponising anti-semitism they'll do it in a heartbeat.

The Tories are also ruthless as fuck which is why for the best part of 50 years the Tories and the Labour Right have run the country.

Do you mean they want to appeal to as many people as possible because you can do fuck all sitting around in opposition waiting 100 years for the Revolution? Does that mean they actually have to do the hard yards of winning an election and putting their ideas to the test instead of whining about ' if only's'. Labour have never won from the Left because Britain is a socially conservative country. The Labour Left could have won if they had persuaded young people to vote and bypassed the dreaded MSM but they didn't. They didn't persuade enough people to vote for them. Instead if blaming a dying newspaper industry or voters maybe they need to look at themselves. But they never do because they are always right, and everyone who isn't them is always wrong.

@LemonyTicket, So sorry. Do these people not accept the right of Israel to exist?

I couldn’t in good conscience vote for an anti-Semitic party like Labour. Who have not done enough to prove they don’t hate Jewish people.

Nor can I in good conscience vote for a lying party that hates poor people.

I don’t know the answer. I wish I did. But in a time where it is terrifying to be a Jew I absolutely will not be opening the door to even MORE anti-semitism. It’s already on very shaky ground as it is.

I'll vote Labour or Lib Dem.

With friends like the Tories who needs... Etc.
I would never ever vote for them. For many reasons but one is their hostility to minorities in general and to immigrants. My family may have been here for 3-4 generations on every side but I can still appreciate the difference immigration made for us.

We appreciate Tories are generally supportive of Jews, but find they're hostile to other minorities.

How do you figure that out? In the Tory leadership election (July to September 2022) three-quarters of the 8 confirmed candidates were non-white or female - and, in two cases, both ie non-white females.

The Conservatives have achieved that entirely organically ie without rigged shortlists or positive discrimination, so no one can say that these people are there on any grounds other than merit -- and support of the grassroots membership.

Now contrast that with Labour who definitely seem to have a woman problem. And, judging by their silence, an even bigger Jewish woman problem...
