To think this is a lot of money?

£100.. for balayage. I'm in the north. I've never paid more than £70 for my hair.. maybe £80 absolute max so I nearly hit the floor when she said £100. I don't dislike it but it's not what I showed her.. photo is what I showed vs what she's done.

Is this the standard price now for balayage? I'd been to same hairdresser for years but I moved away.

@Hullabalooza I'll have a look at those, I've not heard of them!! I wanted the blonde a lot less blonde.. I have had no luck with salons since my hairdresser stopped working Sad

it looks wonderful and that price is pretty average where I live if you went to a city centre salon, everything is just more expensive these days

northernbird1988 · 14/10/2023 16:51

Thanks everyone 🩷maybe I'm just a tight yorkshire lass haha! All my friends have said theirs is around the £60-£70 mark but I'm the only one to have balayage, all my other friends are just fully blonde x

It wasn't a city salon it's just a small market town in yorkshire x

£180 in Cheltenham inc wash, cut and style. I nearly hit the floor. But £100 is a bargain imho. It’s 4 hours work on my v thick hair.

@EsmeT Good lord 😳 I'd have needed an ambulance not a hairdresser if it had come to that price! Haha x

😂😂😂

jays · 14/10/2023 17:01

Your hair is really lovely if it’s any consolation. X

Heifer · 14/10/2023 17:04

DDs was always around £160 2 years ago here on the Wirral, thankfully she is now at uni and gets it done for £60.
Agree with others, yours does look lovely.

Teenangels · 14/10/2023 17:04

It would be cheaper for me to jump on a train and pay £100 than what the price I pay.

I am in the SE and pay £220 for a cut, blow dry and highlights.

A Balyage is at least £250

Legoninjago1 · 14/10/2023 17:08

I prefer yours. More natural. £100 a good price.

TimetoPour · 14/10/2023 17:09

northernbird1988 · 14/10/2023 16:48

@TimetoPour it was in a salon! Either my hairdresser has been undercharging me for years or it was cheap because there's more competition than there is round here? I'll just have to get my roots or something next time as I can't afford £100 every 6/8 weeks xx

I was sold it as you shouldn’t need a balayage done every 6-8 weeks as it should grow out more naturally.

£100 is definitely not ridiculous though. I would be very happy with the result.

Smartiepants79 · 14/10/2023 17:12

For a colour, cut and blow dry I’d be paying a minimum of £160. I have balayage to that I don’t have to have it done more than a couple times a year, if that?
Have you had all your hair dyed a different colour and then balayage? Not sure how you’d be getting roots if you’ve not?

BravoMyDear · 14/10/2023 17:14

I’m in Glasgow and I pay £70 for a cut and blow dry (in the west end) so I’d be delighted with that price for a balayage! Yours is much nicer than the picture 😍

anon2022anon · 14/10/2023 17:17

I'm also in a market town in Yorkshire, and in a granny type salon (the only way I can think of putting it 😂) I pay £70 for full head highlights, so I reckon add £20 on for balyage. In the nice salons it's £100 for highlights and cut, £120 for balyage

funinthesun19 · 14/10/2023 17:21

I prefer yours to the picture. I’d be happy to pay £100 for a good colour like that. It looks gorgeous. ❤️

2023shady · 14/10/2023 17:21

£200 here inc toner and olaplex but not cut

MoisturiseYourMoose · 14/10/2023 17:22

Absolute win, frankly. I’m in London and pay £400.

Cnidarian · 14/10/2023 17:25

That's cheap. I pay £150+, big northern city

wellandtruly · 14/10/2023 17:26

I think that’s cheap.

JMSA · 14/10/2023 17:27

YABU. Not badly priced at all. And it's lovely!

ToysRMine · 14/10/2023 17:31

I’m north west and I think that’s a really fair price.

ZZGirl · 14/10/2023 17:32

Thats pretty cheap. My recent balayage, root tint and cut was £150. It'll be light because of the toner but it's nicer than what you asked for

Flutterbye22 · 14/10/2023 17:33

Girl, £100 is pretty good! I pay a lot more (based in the South East).

BUT, saying that… if you paid £100 and you didn’t get what you originally wanted, I think that’s more the issue here rather than the price.

Still looks gorge though!!

Bertiesmum3 · 14/10/2023 17:34

If you’re not happy with it you should have told who ever did it
I certainly wouldn’t pay for something I’m not happy with
I prefer the darker hair, the other one looks like it’s been coloured and has grown out

Unsure001 · 14/10/2023 17:38

It looks lovely and decent price. In London me and friends pay around 450 for balayage and cut
