Are you still together? How is life now?
I met Dh at 17, looking back we were just babies, 45 now…interested to see if anyone is in a similar situation.
Did your relationship last?

Met at 14, became an item at 16 and still together at 33

Met him for the first time when I was 14, he was older. We got on well but only saw each other at a couple of weddings ect due to similar mutual friends.

When I turned 18 someone put me back into contact with him as I was starting a degree in the subject he specialised in so I could get some advice. We kept talking online for a while and then got together.

I'm 33 now and it's our 15th anniversary next month. Still madly in love and no regrets. We've both changed a lot but we grew in the same direction so it's never really caused any issues.

Yes met DH at 17 - now 37 - been married 17 years in December with 4 kids. More in love than ever if that's possible. There's also a 26 year age gap between us.

😱😱😱 grim.

The late Queen met Prince Phillip when they were 13 & 18.

BookishBabe · 19/10/2023 06:49

Me and DH met when we were both 17. Got married at 21. Had DC1 at 25 and DC2 at 26.
We're currently 31 and celebrating 10 years married next month!

Ups and downs along the way but still going strong.

Stephisaur · 19/10/2023 09:03

I met my husband when I was 16 and he was 17.

We're now 32 & 33, married, one DC.

Still love him to bits.

The late Queen met Prince Phillip when they were 13 & 18.

They were family/related - third cousins

I have family and friends who have been involved with the RF over the years and Lord Mountbatten (very much a Svengali figure) wanted the match (he was PP's uncle) and encouraged them meeting when she was a young and impressionable teenager - not 100% sure she hadn't met him already as a child? Apparently he did the same with a young Charles introducing suitable young women, ie ones he/LM had some connection to, but he didn't take the bait.

I was 18/19
Still together 35 years later

Oldabondonedswings · 31/10/2023 23:03

@capabilityfrowns So sorry 😞 Did he never want to get back together? Did you tell him you wanted to?

Met at 17. Married at 20. Still together 30 years later.

Don't regret not having other partners.

Do think I might have missed a few 'single person' experiences, and wouldn't have recommended the same for my own girls. But nothing I have huge regrets over.

StoatofDisarray · 31/10/2023 23:16

Met when we were 18, we're 56 now. I still see the young bloke I fell for. Neither of us has changed really: we're just older and more experienced.

18 and 20. Now in our seventies. It’s flown by!

NegativeNelly · 16/12/2023 07:31

Met and got together at 15 at school, we are both now 30 married, living together and expecting our first. I hope we do last forever, as we are literally perfect for one another and never argue. It's bliss being married to your best friend

cakewitch · 16/12/2023 08:03

Met at 17, in our 50s now. He's great. We have a good life together. I still look forward to him walking through the door from work, we never run out of stuff to talk about. I'm lucky.

Dahliasrule · 21/12/2023 18:01

Met at 16 /18, married two years later. We will have been married for 56 years in January. No regrets, except when attempting DIY together!
