What's happening in your life?
What's your most pressing worry at the moment and how do you distract yourself from thinking about it, if you can that is?

My DD- is she going to school? Her behaviour
My DH and his wider family due to a very recent horrific family tragedy
finances - never enough money
My house falling down (not quite but needs lots of money spent on it which we don't have )

Children and the future for my severely disabled son.

My DHs new company and decision to live off savings for a few months whilst he gets it established.

Everyone's health given the state of the NHS

Wider environmental/world concerns.

My main strategy has been to distract myself with exercise when worrying and try to get everyone to eat healthily as at least it feels it will help a little both in term of mood and our family's gealth.

Our wedding. Remaining wedmin & payments. Luxury problem to have but it's later this month so it is looming large in our thoughts.

Otherwise: my fathers sudden decline in health and my mum being very down, the fact we both hate our jobs vs needing the money, Israel and worrying about increasing anti-semitism, our manky bathroom needing work & being the next project, Christmas.

My husband. He had an MRI for debilitating back pain last Friday following a diagnosis of osteoarthritis.

On Monday the GP called us and told us he had 5 broken vertebrae indicating cancer in his spine. Into acute oncology to be told it was likely a secondary cancer so quite advanced.

on my mind right now..... waiting for PET scan to get some clarification and a prognosis.

we’re scared.

No.im not, do you ask everybody who posts questions the same thing?

It’s a perfectly valid question on a site continually combed for copy by lazy journalists.

spookehtooth · 11/11/2023 12:29

I got tin foil hats for sale on eBay, if anyone's interested and feeling vulnerable right now

Andywarholswig · 11/11/2023 12:32

My elderly mum had a fall and is in hospital with 5 fractured ribs - she is stuck in A&E as there are no beds and she is high risk of pneumonia

That my 15yr old DD doesn’t want to go to her dads anymore. And I don’t blame her one bit, he went to work overseas for 3yrs, at crucial age for her and her 19yr old DS, arriving back last March. Only to announce he was bringing back a new wife and her 15yr old son. They arrived in July. DD is very shy, we are both thinking she could possibly be autistic and it’s been not diagnosed but that’s beside the point. It’s a shitty thing to do, my DD had met them both twice, and once was at the surprise wedding he planned when she was over there for half term. The plan was she did 50/50 and she did 2 months and last 6wks refused to go, now just sees her dad for lifts to school which is pretty shitty

I am recovering from a broken foot. It still feels very painful and I am not sure if it's healing right or not. I would say obsessing over my foot occupies about 90% of my day right now.

JamSandle · 11/11/2023 18:53

At the moment I'm really worried about the mental health of my loved ones. Quite a few of them are really struggling and I don't know what to do.

Mayhemmumma · 11/11/2023 19:13

Money for Christmas.
Money for finishing our huge renovation project.
How unbearably cold our house is and will increasingly so until we finish the work.
What I really want to do job wise as I approach 40.
Moving my DDs school already in year 7 at her plea and knowing I'm moving her from a bad school to a similarly bad one with some pros thrown in to make it hopefully worth while.
My DH health - mental health and physical health - upcoming lung scan.
