To people not dress their babies in Babygrows anymore?

I have a 6 month old, and from day one he's mostly been wearing babygrows. I've noticed when out and about, and at baby groups etc it's very rare to see this on others. All other babies seem to be dressed in outfits of some kind.

I had a nurse mention to me a little while ago how cute my baby looked in a babygrow. I thought it was a weird comment at the time as assumed this was how all babies dressed. I've had other comments about it too.

Is there a reason people don't use Babygrows? They just seem like the easiest choice for me, less faff. Plus they're cute and seem the most comfortable thing to them to wear.

I don’t think it matters, but agree it is unusual to see a baby in baby grow when out and about. More typically used at night or being at home.

I only know one Mum who dressed their baby in baby grow all the time.

I used the popper vests going out in the summer, but found baby grows fiddly, too many poppers. I rarely used them at all and preferred baby nightgowns as elasticated and easier for night changes.

You can get pull on leggings with feet in which I think are easier. I don’t think anything wrong with baby jeans as long as they are soft!

When DT’s were born (now in their early 20’s) all babies we knew always wore babygros. DT’s didn’t wear anything else until they were about 9 months old - no difficulty in knowing the difference between day and night as they slept through from around eight weeks old.

They wore them everywhere - to nursery, on flights, out for meals, shopping etc. I had a huge pile of babygros - I wasn’t bothered what colour DD and DS wore - they both looked lovely in pink, blue, red or lilac

My son was in babygro’s for the first 18m of his life more often than not! He was a chubber, so it was just easier and he hated anything tight/restrictive or faffy and would pull it off!

Mine were almost always in babygros up until they were 5 months. I wanted them to look like a baby. I loved the ‘small baby’ stage.

I saw a little froggy newborn the other day in “jeans” and “trainers”, and a vest with a collar and buttons like some sort of newborn formalwear, just why?! 😭 They’re so sweet (and I would assume more comfortable) in babygros.

Frankly for as long as DS loves naps (and he LOVES naps) I’ll keep him in daytime babygros to spare the faff of changing him before every nap. I know he could nap in trousers but waistbands always look so restrictive and uncomfortable for sleep. And for rolling around, really. Even 4yo DD has some babygro pyjamas for sleep and she looks so sweet playing in them in the morning, I can almost forget she’s actually a demonic know-it-all reception child.

Mine were dressed in flannelette nightdresses day and night for the first month, then babygows in the daytime until they were around 12 months old, but still had the nightdresses for bedtime.
Then they just had babygrows for bedtime.
I love seeing babies in babygrows, they look sooo cuddly.

Ds at 14m babygrows at home, and different ones for bed lol. Our house is cold and sometimes I put an outfit on top, makes layering easier.
He's ezcema scratcher and babygrows resist the scratching better than separates.
Also I can't keep a pair of baby socks together any more than he can keep them on.
