To not understand what is going on between Israel & Palestine?

I know I sound really naive here and I should know what is going on in the news but I don't really know much and I'd like to educate myself.

Can anyone explain in simple terms what is happening between the two? I have seen a few famous people saying they stand with Israel on social media and getting flamed for it. Also Rishi Sunak tweeting the same today.

Do most support Palestine then? Is the "right" thing to do or is there just two sides to every story here? I'd like to understand what is happening but don't know where to start

Over 200 dead, they are still collecting and identifying the bodies. 40 babies have been found killed in Kfar Aza, many of them with their heads cut off.

There is no coming back from this for Gaza.

Stop this. It helps no one.

There is no goodie in this scenario

Innocent children & babies are being murdered by both horrific sides.

Attacks on innocent civilians and hostage taking are war crimes and cannot be justified.

Israel must be made to abide by international law & stop collective punishment immediately.

Israel should never have been created after WW2 imho. The civilised world should get it’s act together and abolish it.

Israel are the oppressors and the Palestinians are the freedom fighters.

Of course one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.

Nobody is ever allowed to criticise Israel or they get called a Nazi which is pathetic and why Israel got away with so much awful behaviour over the years.

Hamas is a terrorist group who have raped, kidnapped and killed Isrealies. Attacking people at a music festival and dragging off people and killing them is disgusting. There is no justification for that.

Yes we should "abolish" an armed to the teeth state..... We have the right to abolish people's countries.

Are they allowed to "abolish" ours too - when our elected representatives ok invading countries for war crimes etc that their population didn't commit - like Irak.

Or should we be "abolished" for colonising most of the world (and causing mass suffering and deprivation and loss of life while doing so?).

All the "civilised" countries are ex colonisers; have you missed that part.

Oh dear another one that wants to remove Jews from the world. The Nazi lot tried that and thankfully failed.
Jewish people are entitled to live peacefully without terrorism from Hamas funded by Iran and others who don't want peace. Saudi were getting closer with Israel and many in the Arab world don't like that
