To ask where the hell the Israel/Palestine thread went?

Just that really. Is it shut down or did it get moved somewhere? And why am I having to post here to find out such basic information? Why doesn't Mumsnet leave some kind of announcement where a thread used to be explaining why it's been disappeared?

Yes, I can't remember usernames but there was two great things :

A) lots of people were posting really interesting and informative information

B) lots of people were asking questions and genuinely wanting to learn from each other.

It's a shame MN doesn't have a system of banning the 2 or 3 troublesome posters rather than removing helpful talks.

They posted lots of interesting comparisons with the N Ireland peace process.

DeepNative was definitely one. I thought @Pollyputhekettleon too, but also there was a couple of Jews with superb regional history and current affairs knowledge.

It was more just baiting and talking nonsense. Like accusing me of not being a theology student, not being from the Middle east, in like a coordinated attack

Clearly this rubbish happened after I'd gone to bed, but again, why on earth don't HQ remove posters rather than whole threads which - on the whole - had been so informative?

Am I allowed to ask this on here @BeckyAMumsnet? As already said I fully respect that it's not for us to dictate how you should run your own site, and I do appreciate you've got more to do than chase disrupters about, but if it's just a handful wouldn't that be an option?

It was really after midnight until morning so if they wiped that part they could restore the thread. Like I say it wasn't racist or hate speech. More like just needless aggression and baiting

We always prefer to let a thread stand rather than delete it completely and if it's just a handful of troublemakers our policy is to ban them and hope the discussion can get back on track. We're looking at the thread in question now and will post again shortly with an update. Thanks for bearing with us - there have been a LOT of reports!

The MN report function and advice is to challenge it yourself. They put that in report replies to posters too too. We’re looking jntj it feel free TJ challenge it yourself.

I quite often see notes saying that something has been hidden while they look at things. But then they just keep looking (or not) and stuff just remains hidden/binned. With no explanation after all that thinking/pondering. Maybe they get distracted by cushion knitting patterns, who knows. Maybe I don't spend enough time here, just pop on so maybe miss stuff, but don't recall ever seeing anything really objectionable. Folk playing games maybe, nothing more. Starting to wonder why they just don't say "no musings about Palestine", ban the word. Save people the time typing on here. Go down your local spoons for some good intelligent free speech on the matter.

ah, have just seen that the last thread I was wondering about now actually has a specific reason given for the deletion. And it kind of makes sense from my inklings about what lay behind the thread.

Why? I don't understand. If you will find it upsetting you don't read it. I didn't go on any of them - I just came onto this one because I find censorship annoying unless something is really offensive or a personal attack.
