What is your idea of hell on earth?

So nothing biblical.

For me today it was ASDA, 1pm on a Sunday, event going on nearby so huge amount of traffic to get in, even longer queues inside, screaming kids, adults barging by you, having to queue for customer service.

Anything else would include cave diving, pot holing or being on a submarine.

Neighbours music blaring out and barbecues going while im trying to enjoy peace and quiet with a good book

ICanFeelItComingInTheAirTonight · 11/10/2023 10:26

Parties where I have to be the centre of attention, including my own wedding! Loved marrying my husband, and seeing everyone enjoying themselves, hated all eyes on me for a whole day. That's why I won't have a party for any of my birthdays 🤣

I endured the ninth circle of hell that was Tesco yesterday.

I think we need to re-evaluate the idea that there is something odd or suspect about a human being who does not enjoy parties or a woman who does not like weddings. I bet loads of couples would love to get married in private but end up getting bullied into producing an expensive piece of theatre called a 'wedding'.

@ Hawkins0009
The nearest star to Earth is Proxima Centauri. There are two confirmed planets. If one of these is inhabited with intelligent beings they would have to be able to travel for ninety years at the speed of light before they got here or for about 6,000 years if they only had our current technology.
Relax. Not happening……….YET

I'm so sorry 😞 I understand 💖

My hell has been happening over the past decade too aftetba head injury and post concussion syndrome before being also injured by psychotropic meds prescribed off label for severe anxiety and insomnia. I've had a drug induced neurological involuntary movement disorder called tardive dyskinesia (that is like a combination of Tourette's and Parkinson's disease) from the antipsychotic and have been living in hell ever since.

Oh and joy of all joys, I have the menopause to look forward to now, too.

Some days, I truly wonder why I was born 😥💔

Basically other people

Yep, hell is other people to quote H G Wells 😱😫

NooNooHead1981 · 11/10/2023 12:46

Oops, I meant Jean-Paul Sartre! Sorry 🙄🙃😜

FoghornUnicorn · 11/10/2023 13:08

Penn Station in New York. Airless, hot, sweaty, stinky and crammed to the gills with people rushing about. Difficult to figure out where to go and then ended up in a crammed train to Newark with nowhere to put our suitcases. Never again.

RocassaCH · 11/10/2023 13:21

Flicked to Radio One to see if it was as bad as ever. I could only stand a minute. It was a lo-o-o-ng minute of indecipherable Hip Hop and Rap. Happy to be a dinosaur, as I don't believe the kids of today will grow misty-eyed over this junk when much older.

My absolute idea of hell is living in an oppressed country with barbaric regimes. People moan about the UK but truly have no idea what life is like in some parts of the world.

And this sort of post is why people feel compelled to caveat their threads with *lighthearted.

A neon lit cocktail bar populated by women with lip fillers and wearing too much perfume.

My ex wanted to go to one once. I told him if I ever ended up in hell, that's where I'd be for an eternity so I wasn't going by choice.

Damnedidont · 11/10/2023 16:55

Egg curry. Wrong on so many levels.

Working from home 5 days a week and seeing no one outside of immediate family
being trapped in with a baby/toddler/child with a tedious repetitive, day in day out life
A weight loss club meeting in a cold musty hall on a Monday night when it’s raining, you’re knackered from work and cannot even indulge yourself on some nice food.
working twilight shifts or evenings where all morning/day you’re just not relaxed cause you’re waiting to go to work.
A baby shower.
A hen weekend with a bunch of loud gobby girls who want to hunt for men and start the day with lager.
Working in an office with a bunch of back-stabbing, jealous women with a toxic boss who encourages “dog eat dog” mentality and micromanages staff.

I think there’s loads more but this list will do for now lol 😂

Silentwitless · 11/10/2023 23:18

Benidorm, anywhere in the school holidays, networking events, public speaking.

TheaBrandt · 11/10/2023 23:31

Bit confused by the above one if working at home is hell but then working in an office is hell too!

XenoBitch · 11/10/2023 23:34

Being left in charge of a child. I just would not know what to do.

Santina · 12/10/2023 00:20

Disneyland, soft play or a cruise ship
