To be baffled at dislike for Victoria Beckham

whenever there is something online about this woman… the haters come out in force. today someone calling her “a Katie price that can keep a husband”

what is the problem? She seems like a fairly inoffensive woman who has made a success out of her life (and that was her own success: she had it before she met David)

I don't think that she comes across as a warm individual and she spent her first few years deliberately marketing herself as 'posh' and stuck up. That was her trademark. So she doesn't come across as being particularly likeable, just rather cold and unexpressive. But neither does she come across as offensive. She's done nothing objectionable. And she has made a success of her clothing line, albeit with the help from their shared income.

Jealousy?
I admire her. She wasn't the most talented singer / dancer but she obviously worked hard to get where she did and still does.
She's put up with a load of abuse. She's never responded just kept her head down and carried on. She's a good Mum, her kids all seem well balanced.
Her style has evolved, like most of us although she has far more money than me!
Good luck to her.

I don't hate her but I always thought she looked standoffish and miserable so I can't say I warmed to her. I also don't think she was a great role model for body positivity as she was so thin at one time and wore clothes to accentuate that.

She's successful because of who she married essentially. She can't sing or act. Her clothing line wouldn't have got off the starting blocks if it wasn't for brand Beckham.

I don't mind her, she's inoffensive and certainly doesn't deserve the hate but let's not kid ourselves she has any talent.

However, I think the dislike may be because anyone can see she is massively punching. If you look at the traditional set up where the man brings status and the woman brings beauty. She’s averagely good looking whereas you would expect a top footballer to be with a model.

Bloody hell Siam!! Is that what women should be? Trophies?? Besides, she is a very attractive woman. I don't think that you can say that she's punching at all.

She was just as famous as David Beckham when they married. He implies that he wouldn’t have had a post-football career in brands if it hadn’t been for her. So I guess it works both ways.

I remember her doing an interview years ago about why she doesn’t smile and if I recall correctly it was due to being bullied as a child about her teeth so she stopped smiling or at least didn’t smile showing her teeth.

I did love her reaction when her and David were being interviewed by Barbara Walters and he mentioned having more children (before m Harper) and she looked at him as if he lost his mind.

Even if he's not your type looking at his younger years he was exceptionally good looking, hence why he got so many brand deals & became so big.

I've always really liked her. Whenever she has done anything 'behind the scenes' she always comes across well and seems to have a good sense of humour.

People decided years ago that the pout and posh name meant she thought she was above anyone else. I really like her and would kill to be able to afford her make up!

I loathe the woman. She ruined his career at United. Lots of empty promises about moving up to Manchester to be with him instead he ended up travelling to see her after training. Only to have to turn around and travel back almost immediately. Same when he was sold. She's rewriting history re bollocks about finding schools for kids preventing her joining him. This man was distraught; he was booted out (see what I did there?) of the Club that had been the love of his life to be alone in a city without support and most importantly, his family. Rebecca wasn't the only one he dallied with out there and yes, I blame her. Suddenly, he wasn't at her beck (see what I did there?) and call and she scampered over to Spain. Since the the power balance shifted. He shags around (allegedly) with women who have as much to lose as him e.g a certain 'Lady (pushing it) of London'. I've never supported England after the way he treated by so called fans - the fans who forgot they only qualified because of him.

I think they were both beneficial to each others longevity hence Brand Beckham

None of the other Spice girls have had the long term interest despite having more solo singing success. And his team mates from the same era are mainly not famous for anything other than football (commentary, presenting and managing football teams) or womanising!

You may think he was exceptionally good-looking but that's your subjective opinion. As is my subjective opinion that I didn't find him good-looking, in his youth or now. Ronaldo isn't my type but I can see he was good-looking.

Messi has lots of brand deals and I suspect we'd both agree he isn't good-looking....

I don't know anything about her messing up his career but I met her a few times when our kids were small (Swimming classes / soft play) and she was definitely one of the friendlier people there. She could have hidden in a book/phone but she didn't, she totally surprised me and came and chatted.
She smiled and laughed a lot and seemed very hands on as a mum. I don't get the dislike for her either, I really like her.

I have no idea what she’s like as a person, and I give zero fucks about whether she presents as ‘warm and likeable’ or not. She’s clearly an astute businesswoman that works hard at what she does, and I respect her.

I watched a programme about her and she was in a shop laughing and joking. The press were outside and she said to the staff "watch this". She walked out of the shop with a snooty face and a pout, because the press where everywhere she went, dying to get a shot of her smiling, she thought it was hilarious
