With plotting to kidnap, murder, rape..how terrifying

@Chocolatelabradorsarethebest

So she cooked the whole thing up? Nah.

More likely the online hate and anger directed at her fueled these people up.

It really is scary shit the number of nutcases out there who want to harm women!

Yep.

I also think its scary the couple of nutcases on here who think it' been made/set up, to improve her PR..

SUCkythings · 06/10/2023 15:35

Actually the last thing she wants is a positive story because all the haters will come out of the woodwork to pick holes and go over old ground. Far better that people forget and she stays low profile.

I agree! What disgusting misogyny shown by those posters. Minimising threats to women. WTAF.

How was the 32 stone man who is apparently housebound going to kidnap anyone? I’m guessing he was going to pay someone but didn’t have a job and only used to work at Pizza Hut.

No need to ‘guess’, the media are clearly
reporting third party involvement.

Flyinggeesei234 · 06/10/2023 16:03

CherryCokeFanatic · 06/10/2023 14:25

Conveniently timed…. and a rapid overnight investigation and arrest from the sound of it. Could it be as simple as handing over a few weird DMs and hoping one is a stalker/obsessed to get an arrest and some positive PR?

@CherryCokeFanatic are you for real?!

Aretheautumnleavesoutyet · 06/10/2023 16:10

I’m not a Holly fan, but how on earth could they make it up if an arrest has been made and a police car outside her home 🙈

The old article about his weight loss for anyone curious. Too bad he didn't stay housebound.

I haven't read the story (can't stand Holly Willoughby), but this guy was clearly a pathetic fantasist. I've known men like this. They are ugly, boring, unpopular and unwanted. That then makes them bitter — especially towards beautiful/unattainable women. The rage builds, and so does the sense of despair. If they are too isolated, and spend all day online chatting to other bitter misogynists, something like this is inevitable.

lollipoprainbow · 06/10/2023 16:55

Amazing that she can have 24 Hr police guard outside her home. Is this extended to all kidnap threat victims or Just celebrities.

NeedToThinkOfOne · 06/10/2023 17:01

There’s been too many threads recently discussing people in the public eye, when nobody except those people really know what’s really going on. I’m not sure why so many details of this have been released or why it was in the public interest to say armed police were outside her house? So many things spring to mind re this point in particular. Why would HW and family still be staying there if their safety was so at risk and since when do the police super-serve a woman at risk, why the special treatment because she is famous? So much of this story should not have been released until arrests and charges, if any, had been made.

You'll be pleased to know that's exactly what happened.

He has been arrested and charged
Today he was at Magistrate Court today for a hearing and will be going to Crown Court on 3rd Nov for the plea hearing.
Plus, he has been kept in custody.

Oysterbabe · 06/10/2023 18:03

How frightening for her, being targeted by some repulsive incel. He allegedly tried to hire a hit man from the US? I wonder whether there was ever any real threat, but the police are obviously taking it very seriously.

BadSkiingMum · 06/10/2023 18:24

It is utterly horrific. Women in the public eye are at such high risk. I looked up the celebrities mentioned up thread:

Joss Stone - men jailed for a plot to rob and murder her at home
Joss Stone death plot: Junior Bradshaw and Kevin Liverpool convicted - BBC News

Duffy - went into hiding for an entire decade after a kidnap and rape ordeal.
Duffy: Singer was ‘drugged for four weeks, raped and taken abroad’ - BBC News

I can think of many others who have become victims or had attempts on their lives:

Jo Cox
Jill Dando
Princess Anne
HM Queen Elizabeth

Plus stalkers and credible threats are absolutely legion...

Blinky21 · 06/10/2023 18:50

What's Schofield's allibi???

She’s at risk of being kidnapped, raped and murdered. By a stranger, a hit man at that. They haven’t got the other guy yet, any woman would get the same protection in rhe same circumstances, which are incredibly rare. It’s safer to protect her in her home than elsewhere. There are kids involved.

you sound pissed off, like they should not protect her. And the first man has been arrested, charged and held in custody.

Aretheautumnleavesoutyet · 06/10/2023 21:02

Wonder how they found out

Intelligence

Maybe an online forum he used was being watched.... 'incel' is a real threat

The person doing the kidnapping maybe slipped up

Police dealt with this swiftly and competently.... well done to them. Usually they are ripped to shreds.

Tribevibes · 06/10/2023 21:09

Very traumatising for her. I think she’s cracking up a bit just lately. I watched a video of her on instagram but her total voice and demeanour sounded so fake and robotic. She seemed more natural and in flow years ago. I think she’s had a lot on.

Sammysquiz · 06/10/2023 21:26

Soontobe60 · 06/10/2023 12:53

I think cynical is an understatement dear.

Urgh, don’t call people ‘dear’. Have enough of men patronising women like that, let’s not do it to each other.

Janieforever · 06/10/2023 22:01

I wonder if he was an incel, part of a group on line, and one of the men reported when they realised it wasn’t just a sick fantasy and that they were actually going to do this, it was clearly quite advanced in the planning , and the police statement said it had moved fast, which indicates they found out and worked at speed. It wasn’t a long running investigation.

its just terrifying if you think about it.

Chocolatelabradorsarethebest · 06/10/2023 11:18

Truly awful and terrifying for her.

Although, call me cynical, but quite convenient it's happened at a time her popularity has significantly dipped in the wake of the Philip Schofield / queens funeral scandal and some of her actions were being questioned...

Don't be ridiculous, you do know the man has been arrested don't you?

I have just read the Daily Mail article and wondered exactly that. I know he's not 35 stone anymore but he's still very very big. How on earth would he have the money to hire a hitman and where the hell was he planning to take her? I really hope this is just a fantasy of his rather than something he's turned into reality.

Bigcoatweather · 06/10/2023 23:25

This is one of the reasons I’d never want to be famous. Amazing lifestyle, but goodness, the weirdos out there.

BadSkiingMum · 07/10/2023 07:59

I’m slightly disgusted that there are people who assume this is all part of some PR machination or are bizarrely put-out that she is getting police protection.

You may not like Holly as a TV personality or even feel envious of her prettiness/success but she is just a woman like you, me, Sarah Everard or any of the many women who have been harmed by sadistic and deviant men. She can feel fear, be physically vulnerable, bleed and be harmed in just the same way.

Just be bloody grateful this wasn’t yet another tragic case of violence against women and girls.
