Victoria was the more famous one of the two, but once the Spice Girls broke up the star of the respective members started to fade and a few of them, most noticeably Geri, Mel B and Victoria were a bit stuck weren't they? Having had such enormous fame, how were they now to retain it?
Victoria retained hers through David. By allying her star to his, she retained her celebrity fame and influence. It was a very fortuitous match for both of them. Of course there was love there, but it also neatly solved that issue of 'what next' for Victoria.
Also Victoria was the only Spice Girl with a useful descriptor of 'posh' (Baby, or Scary are hardly aspirational) which, unlike the others, she could continue to maximise on. Unfortunately, she leaned into it very hard, and went from a smiling, relatable girl-next-door-made-good-type, who would even wear high street fashion, (someone ordinary women could see themselves in), into a sort of high fashion, ultra-elite caricature, of celebrity- ultra lean, unable to smile, plastic surgery, aloof persona, posing formally every single time she's papped and I suspect she's a bit compulsive about her pictures.
Hate is too strong a word. People don't hate her. They just don't like what appears overly curated and disingenuous. People feel far less animosity overall towards the other ex spice girl members, who have remained relatable.
I admire how they've built their brand and very much respect the courage it took for Victoria to start her own fashion house. That is really impressive, whether her father owned a Rolls-Royce or not.
If the rumours of (alleged) multiple cheating since the Loos scandal are true, then I really feel for her. I can't imagine any man who witnessed his wife being publicly humiliated once, would risk bringing such to her again.
That said, I suspect, like the Smiths, they have an agreement and she's content with the status quo and non-disclosures and super injunctions are used to solve problems. Some women really don't care about cheating as long as they never witness it and that's their prerogative.
