I've never broken a bone or given birth, but I have had some very painful periods that have made me feel like I'm going to pass out. Also terrible travel sickness / vomiting on a 20 hour trip that left me wishing for death due to how crap I felt.

Dilating from 2cm to 10cm in 20 minutes.

Gas bubble in my shoulder after a c-section.

Stepping out of the shower over a bath after my c-section and the left side of my wound pulling, genuinely made me woozy a few times.

DontGiveMeThatOldCrap · 03/10/2023 21:12

I've had 2 children (1 was almost 11lbs)
Gallstones
Sciatica
Abscess in my armpit
Migraines
Broken arm
Dental abscess
Perforated eardrum

The worst pain I've ever known was a hysteroscopy (I had 5 done)

EsmeSusanOgg · 03/10/2023 21:12

Dental abcess was awful too.

Ditto Bartholin cyst.

PermanentTemporary · 03/10/2023 21:12

Childbirth by a very long way. Only did it once.

JudgeJ · 03/10/2023 21:13

Falling ice skating and damaging my coccyx, I couldn't sit down or lie comfortably for weeks. That was 55 years ago and I still get pain from it, oddly enough when I was pregnant I had no problems with it!

OrangeBlossomsinthesun · 03/10/2023 21:13

And I had no pain relief giving birth. Sciatica was still worse

Elphame · 03/10/2023 21:13

Trigeminal Neuralgia

Beats giving birth and renal colic.

raven0007 · 03/10/2023 21:13

After 86 hours of Labour and finally giving birth, I haemorrhaged badly, there was no time for pain relief and the man ( Dr or whoever ) put his arm up to his elbow inside of me and scooped around my womb dragging bits out. Over and over.
My mom and then partner had to hold me down.

MammaTill2Pojkar · 03/10/2023 21:13

Labour with my first.

Staggersaurus · 03/10/2023 21:13

Torn muscle in my back that went into a spasm. Worse than childbirth (and that was pretty bad!)

QuestionableMouse · 03/10/2023 21:13

Posterior shoulder dislocation. Absolutely grim.

Should give context - I slipped in mud while turning a horse out. Landed on my arm which went POP then had to drag myself up and walk back to the office which was a mile away. Then the next day the same horse swung his giant head and smacked me on my bad shoulder. 🤮

Barbarianmumsy · 03/10/2023 21:13

same. Worst pain ever was slamming car door in my thumb. Much worse than childbirth

LammasEve · 03/10/2023 21:13

Gallstones. Worse than toothache, broken ribs, broken ankle and period pains. Would cheerfully have taken the hospital's entire stock of morphine just to stop the pain.

Namechangenamechanged · 03/10/2023 21:14

Childbirth. The pain of delivering my son with shoulder dystocia and no drugs (it all happened very quickly at the end) I can only describe as a searing white hot pain. I felt as though I was being ripped in two, it was like nothing I have ever felt, but then it was instantly over once he was born - little bit sore but nothing too bad. A constant chronic pain is much much worse to live with I think.

MissAtomicBomb1 · 03/10/2023 21:14

Cardiac pain caused by pericarditis.
Thought I was dying. Took the ambulance 2 hours to arrive.

Labour & 2 c sections didn't even come close.

HowNice23 · 03/10/2023 21:15

Eye - corneal abrasion or rather rip. Nothing could help. Nerve pain. Awful.

This was in reply to @XenoBitch 😊

UngratefulOldCabbage · 03/10/2023 21:15

Tearing a ligament in my leg. Worst pain i've ever experienced. Even more than the horrendous tearing during childbirth. I was in and out of consciousness for a couple of hours afterwards in A&E, and then the recovery took months and was just constant pain. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

FallingAutumnLeaf · 03/10/2023 21:15

Ectopic pregnancy close to rupture. Dental infection second.

DS1 was born on a couple of paracetamol. DS2 completely drug free (they got entenox to me as he was born). Neither came close to the ectopic, even after iv morphine.

PomPomSugar · 03/10/2023 21:16

Sinusitis and burst abscess behind ear drum, worse than two horrific births!

randomchap · 03/10/2023 21:16

Gout, specifically the cat jumping on my gouty toe as I tried to get to sleep

Searchingforsunshine · 03/10/2023 21:16

Slipped disc in my back x

LastNightAPandaSavedMyLife · 03/10/2023 21:16

Childbirth x 2. Without a doubt. Diamorphine did nothing other than make me vomit.

Seagrassbasket · 03/10/2023 21:16

Contraceptive coil insertion. Turned out it had broken in half when she was putting it in, they figured out when they tried to get it out a few years later.

I did have an epidural for childbirth though, so that might have been worse without it, I don’t know.

JudgeJ · 03/10/2023 21:16

Plantar fascitis

Thought I was going to die when it first happened, I call it fascist foot.
