I've never broken a bone or given birth, but I have had some very painful periods that have made me feel like I'm going to pass out. Also terrible travel sickness / vomiting on a 20 hour trip that left me wishing for death due to how crap I felt.

Herniated disc in my spine. Never knew pain like that existed. Even on morphine I thought death would be a sweet release. Curled up in a ball night after day after night sobbing in agony, my poor partner not knowing what to do or how to help me. Utter torture.

andHelenknowsimmiserablenow · 04/10/2023 20:48

Mastitis, worse than giving birth.

Edinlassy · 04/10/2023 20:48

pneumonia and plurecy was brutal

luckylavender · 04/10/2023 20:48

Wisdom tooth

mumof2many1943 · 04/10/2023 20:50

A large ruptured ovarian cyst giving me peritonitis 🤕 OUCH.
Far worse than giving birth to a nearly 11lb baby

Trigeminal myalgia - worse than childbirth without pain relief!

I had this and it is not called the suicide disease for nothing. Awful, awful pain.

eastegg · 04/10/2023 20:54

Flu. Like torture. Had rib pain with it that was worse when lying down. I remember thinking at the time it was worse than childbirth because it was sort of similar but went on for about a week. I still think the same after 2 further children delivered by c section and a 16 week delivery.

simiisme · 04/10/2023 20:54

Gallstones - made me pass out, wet myself once. Equal to an infection in my jaw caused by a cracked tooth.
Both were worse than my two births.

mickey54 · 04/10/2023 20:54

@Rightsraptor Yes totally agree I’ve had a c section and a slipped disc but by far the most agonising is endometriosis pain when it flares has landed me in hospital several times in agony ☹️

MrsCLogan · 04/10/2023 20:56

Ovarian Torsion by far, fallopian tube twisted upon itself multiple times and cut off the blood supply to my ovary. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. Frequently fainted and vomited from the pain, no pain relief touched it, including morphine.

Second to that, induced back to back labour ending in forceps delivery, second degree tear and episiotomy.
I’d still take the 24 hour birth over one minute of the ovary torsion any day.

ZzzzCravingMum · 04/10/2023 20:58

In order….
Back to back 72 hour labour
dry socket after wisdom tooth extraction…plug came out when I was on a plane and the pressure in my head was excruciating
failed epidural during c-section
embedded iud coil extraction

brokenbics · 04/10/2023 20:58

Contractions in my first labour (induced). Genuinely thought something had gone very wrong and I was going to die.

Scotland32 · 04/10/2023 20:59

Dislocated and fractured shoulder. Worse than childbirth.

Oh gosh it's awful isn't it @brokenbics. Oxytocin drip? I had that during my first labour to speed up contractions and my epidural had worn off. Literally was having back to back contractions without a second gap to recompose!

carrzeda · 04/10/2023 21:01

As a teen I would have frequent constipation. One time for almost two weeks. It was the most horrible I’ve experienced. It got to a point where I was hallucinating and I couldn’t seat down for anything (apologies for the TMO).

cavalier · 04/10/2023 21:01

My first born 36 years ago
like an elephant sitting on my stomach and no one would get it off 🤦🏻‍♀️ it was horrendous .. second child not as bad but hurt .. shorter labour 🙏

writteninthewater · 04/10/2023 21:03

In order

Contractions - relentless agony
Having my waters broken - agony
Strep throat - like swallowing glass

Angelil · 04/10/2023 21:04

Ear infection in both ears (vomited with the pain, then passed out. Required antibiotics).
Wisdom teeth had me literally writhing with pain that left me unable to sleep. Was SO grateful to have them removed.
The birth of my first son was a breeze by comparison! No painkillers required and it was all just so zen.
Second birth was a bit more painful but still no painkillers and at least it was over in 2 hours from start to finish! Both wisdom teeth and ear infections gave me more pain than that, time-wise, individually.

Osiansmummy1 · 04/10/2023 21:05

A rupturing ectopic pregnancy. Never felt so much pain. And I have given birth since.

Tigernoodles81 · 04/10/2023 21:07

Also gallbladder infection. Have also given birth twice, once with forceps and once with no pain relief. But the gallbladder topped that. It was like the weekend of everlasting labour when I was finally admitted to hospital

CoreopsisEverywhere · 04/10/2023 21:08

Broken wrist

worse than labour and ectopic pregnancy

fedup2010 · 04/10/2023 21:13

Post c section infection. I was given morphine to relieve the pain.

MustBeThursday · 04/10/2023 21:17

Either ruptured ovarian cyst, a torn ligament under my shoulder blade or postdural puncture headache.

BlueSky2023 · 04/10/2023 21:19

Dental issue,
I have no kids though

Weebleonaworkout · 04/10/2023 21:20

Endometriosis and a diverticulitis flare up - both absolutely excruciating. Have given birth naturally twice and I'd rather that than either of the first two.
