I've never broken a bone or given birth, but I have had some very painful periods that have made me feel like I'm going to pass out. Also terrible travel sickness / vomiting on a 20 hour trip that left me wishing for death due to how crap I felt.

Amebic dysentery, I thought I was going to die (and probably would have we're it not for a very astute GP)

Also, when I did my back in. FUCK ME, back stuff is bad. I never really appreciated it until it happened. Whilst recovering I got stuck trying to sit on my sofa and just cried with the pain, not able to move a muscle.

I've had two unmedicated births, nothing compared to those two, in my experience anyway

Darkmode2 · 04/10/2023 19:39

Tearing while crowning, followed by peeing for the first time after that

But the worst was probably the pain after I took a laxative once, I vomited and almost passed out from the pain, it was horrific

Mumto32022 · 04/10/2023 19:40

Giving birth the second time without any pain relief. progressing from nothing to birthing baby in 20 mins. Absolutely excruciating. I felt traumatised to be honest!

Tessabelle74 · 04/10/2023 19:42

Abscess in my ear, made me cry! Just constant pain, even childbirth let's your rest for a minute or 2 between pains!

anon666 · 04/10/2023 19:42

That was my other one. I thought it was just me!!

😯

I was in agony all night, and they didn't warn me it might be painful so I had only paracetamol 🙄

Breaking my ankle ( literally broke my foot off from my leg , it was facing backwards, only held on by skin , tendons ) That was excruciating.
Then had a knee replacement, years later and that was awful too.
Plus , having first child , I left teethmarks on the wooden bedside cupboard 😂.

😱 And I thought I was bad, having mine snapped (trimalleolar fracture) and my foot twisted 90 degrees to my leg! You must be more metal than bone down there now!

I'm both fascinated and horrified by some of the accounts on here. I am so, so glad that with all three of my DC, my waters broke early on, and I went in spontaneous labour well before my due date (38+5 at the latest). Some truly awful stories, you poor souls have been through. ☹️

OneTC · 04/10/2023 19:43

Oh yeah I once jumped off a bed and landed on a 3 pin plug...

Ilovebudgies · 04/10/2023 19:45

Child birth, back to back baby and forceps with no pain relief (not through choice!)
Pure torture, if there her been a button to press to die I probably would have pressed it.

JayJayj · 04/10/2023 19:45

Tooth ache. I was waiting for a referral to the hospital to be put to sleep because of my anxiety. A wisdom tooth had snapped and the wait was causing more issues. I was is constant pain for about a month.
I have given birth and labour pains were really bad I’d still rather that pain than the tooth ache.

muddyford · 04/10/2023 19:46

Having torticollis. Doctor thought I was having a brain haemorrhage. The following day my wonderful GP gave me acupuncture, it stopped immediately and has never come back (fingers crossed).

But severe period pain was just monthly agony and pain relief for it wasn't as good as it can be now. A friend of my mother said it was worse than giving birth, in her opinion.

SloraceHughorn · 04/10/2023 19:46

Ear infection leading to burst.ear drum, and post surgery pain on the same ear. For context I have given birth three times and broken my foot, but the ear pain remains the worst.

TuesdayWonder · 04/10/2023 19:47

Period cramps and pericoronitis!

Poppysmom22 · 04/10/2023 19:49

Dental abscess on front incisor trapped my sinus bone.

napody · 04/10/2023 19:49

Weaver fish in sole of foot. Agony but only for 20 minutes.

Way worse than my two (albeit straightforward) labours... and I've never had dental abcess, kidney stones, broken ribs or any of the other horrible things in the thread- counting my blessings right now!

ivfbabymomma1 · 04/10/2023 19:50

A Ménière's disease attack. It's not physical pain as in it hurts but it's physical pain as in I think I'm going to dye as the room is so violently spinning 😢

JerkintheMerkin · 04/10/2023 19:51

Twisted colon. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Boysgrownbutstillathome · 04/10/2023 19:52

Gallstones

slavetoendo · 04/10/2023 19:52

I have had 2 heart attacks but nothing compares to the pain from sciatic endometriosis.

JerkintheMerkin · 04/10/2023 19:53

And a corneal ulcer. Pain beyond imagining. Eye drops every hour on the hour for 24 hours straight wasn't pleasant either.

MorningHood · 04/10/2023 19:53

Gallstones and post surgical pain after removal of gallbladder. Fucking agony.
And I’ve had 2 c-sections and a hysterectomy!

Scarlettpixie · 04/10/2023 19:54

Broken ribs. Worse than childbirth!

ilovebagpuss · 04/10/2023 19:54

Birth the last contractions before pushing were out of body agony. At one of the hospitals with the huge maternity scandal that didn't believe in pain relief, and tearing.
Absess in inner ear was pretty awful too and quinsy once that was bad.

VK456 · 04/10/2023 19:55

A lot of these sound horrendous!

The most acute pain I’ve ever experienced was when I dropped a cast iron doorstop on the top of my foot. Couldn’t move or speak initially. The worst pain I experience isn’t particularly acute, to be honest. It’s when my arthritic shoulder kicks off. Such an unrelenting, deep (and bloody awful) ache. It just goes on and on and I dread it!

BiscuitLover3678 · 04/10/2023 19:56

DaphneduM · 03/10/2023 21:01

Forceps delivery. Excruciating.

Do they give you anesthetic? 😭

WetWetBottomOnTheNightBus · 04/10/2023 19:57

Several lumbar punctures. Lots of swearing 🤬
Needless to say I didn't want an epidural.
Nerve pain related to slipped disc. Only one or two people I'd wish that on!
