How often do you eat at McDonalds?

Just interested. I think DH visits too often with the kids, he would take them even more if it wasn’t for me asking him not to.

For context he takes them once a fortnight, he would take them once or twice in a week if it wasn’t for me putting my foot down.

It annoys me as I do 90% of the parenting (he works away often) and I feel I can’t give them a lazy tea as they’re already having enough crap.

I know I’ll be criticised for that and not too interested - just wonder what other people do?

Occasionally, we've probably been around 5 times so far this year but I don't actually consider to be that unhealthy. We just live really far away from one!

We get McDonald’s breakfast every Saturday as a fun routine. Jeez, most cafe meals are just as unhealthy. If you’re eating there more than once a week, it’s probably not the best to be a regular thing.

We go once a fortnight, we have to drive 45 mins each way to collect DSD for the weekend on a Friday after work and the only qay we can manage it easily with my DD as well without everyone being starving and miserable is to stop at McDonald's for dinner before we drive back and I have no issue with this (you can can prise my triple cheeseburger with extra gherkins from my cold, dead fingers)

Never. Not for about 30 years

Not had a Macdonalds in over 15 years. I get a craving for it every 12 months or so but then remember the awful after taste and feeling like crap afterwards so resist.
Neither of my DC have ever had one. We have taken them to Five Guys and they loved it so would probably love Macdonalds too.

We have one very close but only go perhaps once or twice a year.

Two of my children work there.
So for me, never.
Grimness after hearing some of their stories.
TbH I don’t go for anything like that takeaway wise…… but I do like a Greggs sausage roll, warm. They are scrummy!!

Loved the Wimpy bars when I was a teenager. Think they’re all gone now. Used to take my sons when they were young to McDonald’s as a treat. Also Burger King. They loved it. I couldn’t get on even with the cup of tea they served, never mind the food. Tastes change as you age.

for breakfast probably every 2 or 3 weeks? DS gets an English muffin with egg in it, and I have a coffee.

for main meals, almost never - I’ve literally never eaten one, and DS and DH have one maybe every 4-5 months?

Once a month for breakfast and probably once every other month for a Saturday lunchtime. We have 3 boys and the youngest is autistic. The only thing he likes is the milk and it costs a fortune for what it is 🤣 Last time we went I pre-ordered on the app right before we pulled up and they didn’t have milk 🤦🏻‍♀️ cue huge meltdown. Schoolboy error 😬🫣 Mental note burned into my brain to check on the app before even mentioning we’re going next time.

Possibly once a year if we're away and there is literally nothing else. There's one 500m away from home that we've never visited. Another is near my workplace and it smells of old oil.

I’ve not had a McDonald’s in 2 years, but that’s because I have coeliacs and there’s nothing I can eat there. Wasn’t a massive fan of it before then (think I overdosed on it whilst working for them as a teenager) but desperately do miss their breakfasts!

I’m not a fan but kids have it every Saturday after Rugby.

Once or twice a year on a long journey if there's nothing else around. I'm always shocked at how expensive they are so often walk straight out again and look for the closest Burger King.

I haven’t been since the 90s. DD has never been and she’s nearly 16.

We do eat burgers from time to time but we have a lovely gourmet burger place nearby that also delivers so maybe once every couple of months from there. But I had a cheeky Wimpy a few weeks ago and love a Wendy’s if I’m in the US!

Maybe 3 or 4 times a year, usually at the services if we’re on a long journey (although now I think of it the kids probably prefer KFC or Subway if those are on offer). Always feel disappointed in myself when we’ve resorted to fast food!
DSD goes about weekly and I think that’s way too often.

Never. Disgusting place. I haven't eaten meat since I heard the crying of distressed calves that had been separated from their mothers. I asked a young guy who worked on the farm what the noise was, and he pulled a stupid face, said "they want their mummies," and laughed. I've never eaten meat since.

Personally, once or twice a year would be enough for me. For the kids when growing up, definitely more frequently, but they would run it off in no time.

Their dad still buys treats way more often than necessary. I don’t like fizzy drinks 🥤 but he and the DSs do and drink them too often (aspartame or no).

Now they’re earning their own money probably more frequently than I would think good for them. I blame UberEats or whatever they use. 🍔

Twice a month on a Sunday I’ll have a McDonald’s breakfast - I never regret it! Love their hot chocolates in particular.

Once a year?

When my kids were small (20’s now) it was 3 or 4 times a year. They probably eat them more often now they have their own money.

I probably go about 4 times a year, usually to and from holiday or otherwise travelling and wanting something quick and easy. ExH takes DS (16) once or twice a month.

A couple of times a year probably. It’s not our go to take away. We do have a take away of some kind 2/3 a month but that is more often than not a pizza.

The breakfasts 🤢. DD likes them and bought one for me a few months ago, bloody hell it was vile. Rubbery egg, weird flat sausage and a greasy, bitty hash brown. One bite and she had the rest of it. I don’t understand the attraction. Don’t get me wrong, I love a full English or a bacon barm but McD’s offerings are a no.
