To think vaping should be banned

I've just been watching the BBC 10 o'clock news. Lead story the rise in young people addicted to vaping. Rise in severe stomach pains and lung problems in young folk caused by vaping. Those horrid vaping shops are springing up everywhere. They are a curse as is tobacco. Its really worrying.

So relieved the thread title is a typo

Vile stuff. I'm worried my kids will want to try it.

I completely agree. We will see in a few short years the damage that it has done.
It is now being marketed for and bought by children.
It's criminal.

single use vapes should be banned. especially cheap brightly coloured ones sold like sweets and then chucked in the bin.

more expensive multi-use vapes to wean smokers off cigarettes should still be allowed.

It hasn't been around long enough for us to know what the long term effects are. In twenty years, hordes of people could be diagnosed with vape disease (obviously doctors will give the new, vape induced disease a more scientific name than that). But you are right. It is frightening. I hope it is banned too.

At minimum I think they should be expensive and flavourless.

It's absurd to talk of banning cigarettes for future generations, when teens can go and buy a grape flavoured vape instead. I know what I'd have preferred when I was a young smoker. I completely understand the appeal of vaping.

No vaping shouldn't be 'banned'.... the reasons you give are a bit odd

So people, in general, want vaping banned but herein legalised, cigarettes and alcohol are not banned there are lots of dangerous things out there

Why no people take responsibility for themselves and their actions?

YANBU to find it worrying that children and teens are using vapes. Something definitely needs to be done to tackle the issue.

However, YABU to want vaping banned completely. If used correctly, electronic cigarettes are an extremely useful aid in weaning smokers off the cigarettes.
