Anyone watching? I've always said 'innocent until proven guilty' but also 'there is no smoke without fire'.

Having been sexually assaulted myself, one of the stories seem so similar to mine.

There was a rumour when I was in sixth form that a girl in my class went to see his show, and something happened backstage that upset her. But we were shithead teenagers so it got turned into a joke.

Much like the shitheads who read the headlines today, still went to his show, and gave him a standing ovation - for what, being their favourite r*pist?!

What the fuck has being promiscuous or liking sex got to do with raping people or allegedly doing so? Some people on the internet have really not got a grip of their boundaries.

Well if those were the stories of women who felt the could come forward and that were able to be corroborated enough to be broadcast, then my heart breaks for the women who’s stories couldn’t be corroborated enough for broadcast or didn’t feel able to come forward. My worry is that those stories not told tonight might even be more horrific than the ones shown tonight.

Considering how off his face he was at the time of these alleged attacks I doubt even he remembers what he has done or not done!

The allegations need investigation. Somewhat obviously. By the correct authorities. Not the media.

I think it is pretty clear and strategic that he has almost rebranded as a conspiracy theorist, anti-vax, critic of MSM, free-thinking (whatever that means) 'personality' because he knew that people would eventually come forward about his offences and the people he appeals to will be thick enough to believe that it is just another one of the MSM's tricks to silence him exposing the 'truth'. As if the girl who privately went to a rape clinic the morning after being abused by RB was lying and doing so on the off chance that he might need falsely exposing nearly 20 years later. And as if the MSM would go to this much effort to silence a nobody who's opinions are only respected by a small minority in his little echo chamber of deluded weirdos.

Haven't watched Dispatches but was reading the Times from 3pm when they released their reports. I've got no doubt the journalists verified every word they printed - they'd be up against a very expensive libel lawyer if their statements weren't robust.

I was really struck by the way two separate women spoke of him 'glazing over' during his attacks. I've seen that; I don't know what it is, but I've only ever seen it in sexually excited men and it always struck me as pitiless.

I think he’s been playing the long game with his YouTube channel. Banging on about how the mainstream media cannot be trusted and portraying himself as the great truth teller.

It reminds me of Jimmy Savile. We used to see him regularly and for many years before the stories came to light our children were warned to stay away from him, he was also warned to keep his distance from the locals. This was after an incident at a local event with a child.

The Dispatches documentary on Russell Brand wouldn’t have been shown if they didn’t have more evidence imo.

I feel contempt towards anyone defending him.

I've never found him funny - his style of comedy never suited me. I thought he was overrated, and so that may have influenced my bias, but he's always given me the ick.

I feel there is more to this story. I wonder if Katherine Ryan was referring to Brand. If not, and she was referring to someone else, I imagine more will come out about the wider 'comedy circle', and Brand will just be the start of the floodgates opening (at least I hope so to hold every sex pest and rapist to account, if there are more).
