If you HAD to choose one?

In my circle of main friends (mums) the partners/husbands all seem to have issues with booze-drink too much, go out with mates to the pub/football etc and drink a lot. They are generally fairly sporty-play golf or football

Dh rarely drinks, has the odd beer here or there, but isn’t fussed, hates football and golf, but surfs/snowboards etc. He doesn’t go *Out with the lads, but has either a beer with the odd pal or friends from work or more likely goes to friends houses, they listen to music, chat, watch a film and have a joint.

Which would you prefer?

Funny that we never talk a lot women in three terms … there aren’t groups of men talking a about how their wives go drinking & watching sport instead of engaging in everyday life.. or how their wife smoked weed in order to cope.

Useless men … again

To accept either would mean me being a loser as well.

Neither of them would bother me particularly unless they were problematic users

DP smokes a bowl on his weed vape most nights before bed, but never smokes a joint with tobacco anymore.

He never has more than three beers (the small 330ml cans), and that's infrequent.

I prefer this to someone who comes home and has to drink every night or is getting legless every weekend.

Pot head

I wouldn't go near both, especially the football one. Been with big drinkers and its a nightmare. They just go on benders and disappear and expect you to pick up the pieces. Most older pot heads tends to havd fairly good jobs but are still lazy at home. Either way you are mum and dealing with incompetence and being treated like you are beneath them. Like choosing between Tory cabinet members for PM.

I wouldn't mind a pill head because at least you'd get a good dance, lots of hugs and get told you are beautiful all of the time. Maybe some speed and give them a cleaning rota and shopping list to get through. Still need a day of doing nothing for the comedown, but at least they are useful and fun when they are wasted.

The worst would be coke heads. 0 to self obsessed wanker in 2 minutes. I don't get how people take that stuff and feel so great when it just turns you to an arsehole. It's not glamorous at all. Wipe it off the face of the earth and the world would be a much more compassionate place. Our government might struggle to continue to be arseholes without it though. It's rife in the commons apparently. Traces of it were found on the backs of most toilet cisterns a couple of years ago. Explains a lot I suppose.

I'd rather be single. However, I've had housemates who were both (in my youth) and the pothead was significantly easier to live with. The drunk was loud, annoying and occasionally belligerent. The pothead just smoked in her room and mostly kept to herself. The worst thing she did was eat an entire jar of jam whilst high.

Pot. Alcohol is a nasty, dangerous drug.

I love to drink. My partner loves to drink. Both in reasonable, remaining in control quantities (a few beers, or splitting a bottle of wine). I’d really dislike being with anybody who didn’t want to drink at all. And I’d extremely hate being with someone who drank excessive amounts regularly.
Neither of us smoke weed/smoke at all (though both did occasionally whilst younger and travelling). But the exact same would apply to that. Occasional use- fine. Excessive And regular use - no way.

I’d rather be single than be with someone who had a problem with either.
