If you HAD to choose one?

In my circle of main friends (mums) the partners/husbands all seem to have issues with booze-drink too much, go out with mates to the pub/football etc and drink a lot. They are generally fairly sporty-play golf or football

Dh rarely drinks, has the odd beer here or there, but isn’t fussed, hates football and golf, but surfs/snowboards etc. He doesn’t go *Out with the lads, but has either a beer with the odd pal or friends from work or more likely goes to friends houses, they listen to music, chat, watch a film and have a joint.

Which would you prefer?

I can't stand the stench of pot. Like others though, I'd sooner remain single.

Hmm well my experience of living with people who were pot heads was largely negative (so very, very dull) so given the choice I'd go with piss head (providing he's a 'fun drunk' not aggro).

Just stay away from the smack heads (voice of experience...)

Another vote for staying single. An ex of mine smoked weed regularly and he was paranoid, controlling and abusive. It was a terrible relationship and the smell was awful! I know alcoholics can be equally as bad.

My DH is a pot head and I have no issue with it. He doesn't drink alcohol and I find a bit of weed honestly doesn't change his personality when he smokes it.

I dislike the smell of smoke more than anything. He has one or 2 joints a night but he can and does go without sometimes (of we're on holiday for instance).

I couldn't be with a pisshead, no chance.

If you actually mean just a few joints and not an actual pot head smoking his life away,then defo the pot head.

Neither. My ex is an alcoholic, so been there, done that. Won't ever do it again.

Smokers, of anything, are a dealbreaker for me, so I wouldn't go out with a pothead either.

Neither. Had alcoholic father and brother. Don't want anything to do any pissheads or potheads, ever.

I don't think either is intrinsically good or bad, it really depends on the individual.
You clearly sound like you are trying to lead this to having the odd spliff is better, and you think your friends husbands are worse than yours. I'm guessing someone has said something to rub you up the wrong way.
I wouldn't be bothered if my husband smoked weed with his mates. He doesn't. He smoked in past but stopped (a long long time ago!) as it was regularly feeling bad with it. He does probably drink too much, more drinking at home than out, but does also go out once in a while. Occasionally he comes very drunk. Thing is, he's just a happy drunk. I've never seen him get angry, aggressive, loud, too lairy or anything. He just gets a glazed look in his eye. On the other hand, I know some people that are awful drunks, so that would probably would have a problem if they were my DH.

If either had severe issues with pot/booze, then I would prefer to stay single.
Saying that, I like a drink too, so a pothead would put me off. I have been out with a few, and they are boring as hell when they have had a few joints. Also total wasters.

I must be really odd, I seriously couldn’t put up with someone who drank to excess or took drugs, I must be really boring.

In the interest of answering the question posed- pisshead. I cannot abide the stench of weed, the harm it does, the illegal trade and the cost of that illegality makes my skin crawl. But I'd hate to be with a pisshead too. It would be an equal hell, Just without as many ethical issues.

Neither. I'd avoid both. If it happened after the fact, I'd rather a piss head.
