Just for fun.

Mine is the woman who posted for advice about what to do about her husband who was talking to their cat really sensually. Not baby talk but like sensuous loving ”ooh your fur is so good my darling pussycat” and it gave her the absolute ick.

Every time I talk to my dog I remember her and chuckle. I wonder how she’s doing 😂

Also whilst I predate Penis Beaker and many veteran MNetters hail it as the decline of MN, I loved it 😁

Need to know what this is 😂 (haven't read the rest of the thread yet so hopefully it's described further down 😂)

There was a relationships one with a lovely MNer called Somer-something. She was a young widow with children and was thinking about going on a date with someone she'd met through work. It was the sweetest thread(s) as they eventually fell in love and he proposed.

I can't remember her username properly or I'd link.

Think that was Somerville (I’m sure otherwise I’ll have said. Im on page 1 and catching up).

Sisterpita · 02/09/2023 17:36

Several of my favourites mentioned but the ones I really wanted an outcome to were not classics.

There was the poster who on moving day found the bathroom suite had been removed by the owners. Clearly that went quickly because they needed to take legal action.

The poster who inherited/owned a small wood and the CF neighbours had fenced it into their property.

The one with the creepy music in the garden and the even creepier deletion message.

I came here to say that!!

Rufus27 · 02/09/2023 17:39

The one about Oliver’s Army sticks in my head as I got quite emotionally involved, only to later discover it was a hoax. My troll radar has improved since then!

The mumsnetter who had a crush on her workman then revealed he had a removable tooth which she found a turn on. I remember it because I had a fit of crying laughter in the street and looked like a loon.

Mulhollandmagoo · 02/09/2023 17:41

I remember the reply to an OP, who was absolutely horrified that people put rubbish in their bathroom bin! Particularly sanitary products, she used her bathroom but for clean recyclable products only, and anything else went straight out to the outside bin. She couldn't believe that people used their bathroom bin for ACTUAL rubbish 😲

Snapped and Farted

Same! Glad I didn’t have to scroll too far to find someone else who thought of it!

Yes, that was so delightful. I hope they are all happy and well.

It's a bit vague but I'm sure there was a thread when a lady was (or pretended to be) very rich.

Lived in Knightsbridge or similar, had various domestic staff and seemingly fragrantly wafted around all day doing nothing. Asked a series of questions about taking her daughter for an ice cream etc and generally seemed to live in an alternative reality.

Two.

A property porn one where someone posted a rightmove link to a house that was crazy/ugly. Everyone piled on laughing at it. Then the actual owner came on and was furious. I do believe it was the owner from what she wrote. Everyone sort of slunk away....

The other one was my favourite.
Woman and all her family got to her house in an estate type car with double row of seats in the back. She was in the back row and someone had shut the boot before she got out. She initially said she was stuck in the car. No one missed her or came looking for her and she spent an hour in the car crying because no one realised she wasn't in the house.
But then she did say she could've climbed over and opened the side door of the car and gone into the house... but didn't.
She just sat and cried. It was batshit and hilarious!

Everyone was asking her why she just didn't get out the car and go in the house! 😂🤣

The poor woman with the courtyard where the neighbours installed French doors straight onto her property
I think she had to take the thread down in the end but I often wonder what happened

Also, the recent cat getting into neighbour's house one that went on for 3 threads and got more unbelievable with each update. Very entertaining.

The cat one ended in an odd way. Wasn’t deleted (when it should have been as it was obviously made up) but it just had a “this thread is not accepting any new posts” message.

SpanGran was the first MN thread I got really invested in. Hope it was real and SpanGran and Ken from the corner shop got together and now he runs a shop on the Costa Blanca

Well. Having got to page 14 of Mexican House Thief, what a total disappointment! Bugger reading the full 31 pages.

Cutted up pear was funny at the time. And Omg Your Minge, definitely memorable. But Mexican House Thief? There's the post explaining it (yes, definitely a CF) then ten odd posts after, saying nothing particularly funny or witty, just agreeing what a CF.... and that's it. Personally, not even classics worthy, I'm surprised at the number of people raving about it.

Mimmy352 · 02/09/2023 17:54

The one where someone moved to a small village, and a distant neighbor was convinced she knew her from school. Ended up harassing OP’s son and telling everyone in town how horrible OP was for ignoring her old friend - even though they didn’t go to the same school ever and never met.

I still don’t know how that ended

TeresaMayspants · 02/09/2023 17:55

There was a post over lockdown about a mum who’s oldest son who had hit her youngest son basically because he was a shit who couldn’t behave. But the youngest sons dad was some sort of internet gangster a terrible human being so he definitely wouldn’t be better off with him. She couldn’t get the youngest to behave despite buying him every gadget imaginable And holidaying in Dubai. It went on and on for pages and pages. I was hooked!! And then it got deleted..

Thepeopleversuswork · 02/09/2023 17:58

There was a great one (not sure if it made it into classics) with an OP who had commissioned a naff soft porn painting of her and her DH getting it on and asked if she would be unreasonable to put it up in one of the guest bedrooms.

She got torn a new one. Was slightly unkind but very funny.

Shodan · 02/09/2023 18:00

YY to cutted up pear and also the bobble (booble?) plate.

But for some reason one that always sticks in my head (and it wasn't even a full thread, just a post, I think) was someone who claimed that her husband had somehow lost an entire car. What got me was that she (and quite a few posters) seemed to think that it was terribly amusing and wasn't her husband such a silly billy! All I could think was how stupid he must be and how vapid she was 😳

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 02/09/2023 18:00

for me, it’s that woman who spontaneously gobbled a male stripper’s cock for at least four minutes and then felt disgusted, ashamed and embarrassed.

The stuck in the car one has just reminded me of an OP who was feeling unwell and climbed up on the kitchen counter to access her medicine cabinet or something…but then she felt too sick to climb down so called her DH and cried and was upset he wouldn’t come from work to get her down!! I think all the replies were variations of ‘just move into a sitting position and hop down!! It’s the kitchen counter!’

Oh and the brilliant thread where the OP's wanker partner of years dumped her by text and ended with "no need to reply."
So she didn't. Ever. And it absolutely crackers, the prick. She was awesome.

YES - sometimes when I need a boost I re-read this one. She lost her first login but her second thread was by @runningintherain I think. So, SO good. Always wonder how she is...damn legend.

Not a thread but a post about a woman out on a date with a very posh man. She'd had a sudden fit of diarrhoea in the pub toilet only to discover there was no loo roll. She thought she'd sorted herself out until the man very politely asked her if she was OK, as "you smell faintly of botty". Every time I hear someone speaking with RP it reminds me of this 🤣

Grin

I wonder if there was a second date!
