Does anyone else think that Carrie is a bitch? Why the hell was she so awful to Aidan?

Haha such a pointless post but I'm sick and binge watching the series again and I have no friends so hoping someone else will join in the chat.

It's weird because when I watched it when I was younger I felt like 'big' was the right choice,the exciting, bad boy but now that I'm more mature, I'd love an Aidan!

Totally agree! I LOVE Aiden! I have watched satc many times but I can't watch his last full episode with the wedding dresses etc, literally breaks my heart!

Oh my god you're so right! Plus he's damn gorgeous. It's like when we brought her a new laptop and everything and she just treated him awfully.

Have you watched the spin off? I only watched it because he's back 😂

Carrie was literally the worst. I never got the Aiden hype though. I thought he was quite controlling.

Carrie was The Worst, but not because of Aidan, who I also felt was horribly controlling.

It was the blasé way she treated her friends all the time that got me. She got called out on it once (I believe she sent Aidan to help Miranda when her back went out rather than doing it herself) but, honestly, she did it all the time.

I think the most realistic part of the new series is Samantha finally having enough of her shit and cutting her off.

I really enjoyed watching the original series but don't want to watch AJLT.

Some time ago I bought them all on prime and rewatched them all but don't want to rewatch at present.

Was there not an episode where Carrie realizes she has no money to buy her apartment, even though she has spunked hundreds of thousands on shoes, and then she gets pissed off with Charlotte for not offering her hundreds of thousands of dollars as a loan when she has clearly proven herself to be fiscally irresponsible for the entire time she's known her? Ridiculous!

As I remember it, Carrie did love her friends but didn't always get around to doing everything she might for them. She was her own worst enemy!

I have rewatched SATC many times (I’m a bit of a mega fan!) and I do think Carrie was really awful to Aiden BUT I think also he wanted to live extremely fast. You always want what you can’t have and I think that was what was going on with Big.

I love Aiden but there’s something about Mr Big!

Ive just seen that Bunny MacDougal has died aged 93. I absolutely adored the episodes with her and Trey in them.

I am currently re-watching the series when I go to the gym.

one thing that struck me was that Carrie (and the others) were allowed to show signs of age. Even 30 yo Carrie had fine lines, wrinkles, dark undereyes... I had recently watched the film (😐) and it seemed to me that by then the attitude towards women showing „their age“ had shifted.

and I agree! Absolutely can’t stand Big (just finished season 2).

Oh she's awful. What really struck me watching again was all the 'omg I'm in the country' fish out of water episodes. God she's annoying. And her really clunky one liners, she had no wit. And always fawning over her male friends and treating her female friends like crap. Aiden deserved far better but tbh it also wasn't at all clear why he even wanted to be with her in the first place. None of her relationships made sense because she didn't.

I thought the bit with Berger was slightly more interesting- someone you are totally compatible with except sexually. They could have done something with that.
