Wtf is this pain

Sorry posting for attention, not sure whether to be worried or not

last night I had the most debilitating pain, it was definitely In the reproductive area rather than a gastro style pain. It felt a cross between intense period pain and contractions except it wasn’t in the usual wave of contraindications. I was floored. After the intense pain started to subside I would literally feel a throbbing. I expected to see a gush of blood it was that painful, but nothing.
If I was pregnant I’d have gone straight to miscarriage. Intense pain lasted for about 20 mins and then faded

i ovulated 3/4 days ago not ttc but we use natural family planning never had anything like this before.

So you could be pregnant.

DustyLee123 · 28/08/2023 12:31

I had painless contractions that made me sweat when I was passing a decidual cast.

BernardSure · 28/08/2023 12:32

Twisted ovary?
Ovarian cyst? (bursting cyst?)

BernardSure · 28/08/2023 12:33

I think you might want to get checked out OP.

Unananana · 28/08/2023 12:33

Sounds like potentially implantation pain? (Clutching at straws) or period pain? Or maybe miscarriage considering you could be pregnant.

'Natural Family Planning' is not real contraception. If you aren't planning to conceive, then you should probably use actual contraception.

WeeOrcadian · 28/08/2023 12:33

You could very well be pregnant then. Have you had any bleeding? Any other twinges or pains?

Newnamehiwhodis · 28/08/2023 12:34

Ugh this happened to me when one of my eggs burst. The doctor said “congratulations, you’ve just lived through one of the most painful things a person can experience” and likened it to being shot with a gun.

if it’s that strong, it could be something like that. But I am no doctor, and it’s best to get it checked out!

SataumaMeddler · 28/08/2023 12:34

Get it checked out!!!

It’s the only thing that works for us. Thanks for your concern but we’ve made an informed choice for us on family planning

Would it be intense for a bit and then fade to nothing today?

the throbbing felt almost in my cervix

I had painless contractions that made me sweat when I was passing a decidual cast.

I didn’t pass anything though… nothing came out.

off to google decidual cast

I used to get this type of pain after exercise like if I went for a run (incredibly inconvenient to be buckled over in that sort of pain when you've just ran 2 miles from your house!!)

Turned out I have multiple cysts on my ovaries and the doctor thinks the pain was actually coming from having a thicker uterus lining, I was put on the mini pill and had no problems with it since.

Definitely go to your GP, hope you get it sorted. And make sure you push for tests because when my blood tests came back fine they tried to drop me, I needed an ultrasound for them to find anything.

Yep
Been hospitalised twice....blacking out at work (in the hospital) with the pain of the swelling and rupture then it reduces to a bit of colicky pain which is the cyst fluid in your paracolic gutter which will be reabsorbed into your body over the following week or so.
Mine are always right side so everyone thinks appendix.

The pain though was very very central, very low down, I can’t say for certain of course but if I was a better I’d be pretty confident it was uterine pain

No bleeding and no other twinges

So did a virtual GP appointment and they didn’t think it was a cyst or ovarian torsion as the pain was too low and went away. GP said monitor, maybe ovulation pain but again too low and I’d already ovulated?

they said maybe period, but it’s definitely definitely not as my luteal phase is around 14 days long and I’d just ovulated and I’m still temping high

anyone else? Don’t know if it’s worthwhile trying to get in with my actual GP but it’s normally pretty tricky to get an appointment

I get it on day 3 of my period. Even morphine doesn't relieve it and I'm sweating and on all fours yelling in pain
They scanned me and found multiple chocolate cysts and suspect I have endometriosis

UhHum · 28/08/2023 21:29

I had intense pain when I implanted with both my pregnancies. First time I was in the supermarket mid afternoon and was bent over with the pain (stitch like). Second I was asleep and was awoken by this intense pain! Never had a pain like it except those two times! Both times lasted about 15/20 minutes.

I very much doubt it’s endo, I’ve never really struggled with excessively painful periods, mild cramps one day if anything

I had this with endometriosis and cysts.

I didn’t have any of the other symptoms like painful periods either.

I get this sometimes, ovulation pain. Could you have ovulate a bit pterodactyl than thought?

I don’t think that’s a thing…
