Wtf is this pain

Sorry posting for attention, not sure whether to be worried or not

last night I had the most debilitating pain, it was definitely In the reproductive area rather than a gastro style pain. It felt a cross between intense period pain and contractions except it wasn’t in the usual wave of contraindications. I was floored. After the intense pain started to subside I would literally feel a throbbing. I expected to see a gush of blood it was that painful, but nothing.
If I was pregnant I’d have gone straight to miscarriage. Intense pain lasted for about 20 mins and then faded

i ovulated 3/4 days ago not ttc but we use natural family planning never had anything like this before.

That may well be, but I’d probably want someone to have a quick look. You’d be hard pushed to get a referral for a colposcopy or ultrasound for a one-off pain however, so log it.

Did it hurt through to your lower back? And you’ve had no abnormal bleeding?

No lower back and no bleeding, smear only a few months back

It sounds very similar to everyone’s experience of cysts but do you think it might have been your bladder area? Kidney stones can be very painful but I would have thought you’d feel them on the way down

It definitely wasn’t bladder area, and the pain was familiar pain too, definitely uterus

I had something similar, they think it was the passing of kidney stones. Worst pain I've ever had in my life and I have a high pain threshold. The pain was it/them moving down the urethra, so it was low down where I'd say I get period pain, and it came in waves of unbelievable agony.

I did, they said doesn’t sound like a cyst, appendicitis, ovarian torsion so just to monitor, they said sometimes things can induce uterine cramps that can be painful, cervical irritation, sex but neither seemed to apply

Uterine spasm?

wobblybobbly · 29/08/2023 08:37

I would definitely get it checked, I have had severe pain as you described and after a scan found I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy which in my case led to hospitalisation and the loss of half my reproductive system.
Either way, only way you will really know is through a scan and/or bloods.

moomoosaka · 29/08/2023 08:44

Sounds like my cysts. Like Dr said just monitor it. Sometimes our bodies do painful things.

I would push harder if you get it again as this whole thread shows it definitely does sound like a cyst. Maybe they are just saving resources because the pain came and went but your dr can’t really rule anything out without an ultrasound (not wanting to scare you or say it’s def a cyst, just saying)
