My lovely neighbour (rented property) told me on moving in that she works nights as a HCP. This is borne out, as far as it goes - she’s clearly out overnight but only for 1-2 nights per week.

In the meantime I’m pretty sure she’s running a commercial kitchen from her home, and making her living mostly from this.

Are there any circumstances where this is ok? I don’t want to knacker her income stream but equally I’m a bit worried about vermin (lots of evidence of food prep outside in the garden).

Not sure there's any environmental rules about having food waste outside - most of us with councils that collect food waste have it stored outside!

Why is food prepping in the garden a problem?
Is she leaving scraps that might attract vermin? Or does she clean up.

Is she slicing veg and cooking on a camping stove outside? Or is it BBQ food that she’s making? How do you no it’s a commercial business? Have you managed to find what platform she’s selling it on?

How can you say you’ve a problem with the smell and then say it smells great?

@devildeepbluesea I do indeed, but I know that private address are not shown on the FSA website, you can search by first bit of the post code but unless you know the business name you won't know which address each business relates to.

Industrial wood fired pizza oven?
Trestle table set up with production line of sandwich ingredients?

I could understand if she was constantly bbq'ing in her garden with the smell as that would also annoy me, however food prepping is a non issue. As long as she's disposing of her food waste correctly, there is absolutely nothing wrong with what she's doing.
And as for cooking smells coming from inside her kitchen, that's literally what her kitchen is for and she can use it any time she pleases. If you don't like cooking smells coming from your neighbours, YOU need to move to a secluded, detached house.

Ah it's the noise late at night that bothers you, you say. I'd ask her to keep it down, or complain to her landlord if it is a big problem.
