Curiosity only. I feel like it’s pointless getting a ticket but every now and then I like to daydream.

A group of 5 of us won around £2,500 so £500 each around 18 years ago. My washing machine broke the next day so it was gone very quickly on that!

Another work syndicate a couple of years later won over £200,000 and they got £50k each.

I havent known anyone else with wins above the minimum.

FedUpWithEverything123 · 20/08/2023 03:54

£140! It was wild
I often win a couple of pounds (I play lotto and euromillions)

octaurpus · 20/08/2023 05:01

$1,161 on the Australia lotto. I was in Oz seeing my parents, before heading back to the UK to elope with my now DH, and bought a ticket for fun. We put it towards our honeymoon.

GellerYeller · 20/08/2023 09:54

I never had more than three numbers. I do know a person who’s won the Lotto jackpot twice in two syndicates! Once at work and once with friends after they all retired.

KimberleyClark · 20/08/2023 09:58

£64. Used to play weekly but not bothered since Covid.

HamstersAreMyLife · 20/08/2023 10:02

Got 4 numbers once and it was about £65, a couple of tenners. Have played weekly my whole life, I should probably give it up tbh but feel the money goes to charity so it does some good.

hookiewookie29 · 20/08/2023 10:04

£1000 on the postcode lottery about 4 years ago and several tenners since

Thefamilywaster · 20/08/2023 10:09

£100 on a scratch card (one where you win up to eight times and I won 4)

£64 on euromillions for 4 numbers the night before going on holiday. Was great coming home and having that £64 to tide us over to payday

zingally · 20/08/2023 10:50

I won £7 on the Euromillions about 15 years ago. That's it.

Whenever see the Euromillions is over £100mil I usually buy a ticket. More for the enjoyment of having a few days fantasy about winning, rather than actual hope!

A colleague of mine won £20k on the bingo! She was able to put a deposit down for a house with that.

TheWayoftheLeaf · 20/08/2023 11:08

£30

DirtyBroomstick · 20/08/2023 11:21

£5000, but it was from one of their scratchcards, not the draw.

lechatnoir · 20/08/2023 11:34

DH won £1k on the postcode lottery about a month after he started doing it. I nearly threw the cheque in the bin as it looked like junk mail or a scam and I didn't know he had entered!

My aunt & uncle won £1.9m on the lottery about 10 years ago. Honestly couldn't tell you what/if they've spent it as other than nice holidays and a new car each there's no obvious change in their lives. To be fair they were already retired and lived comfortably so I guess not a massive need for radical change.

SwirlyShirly · 20/08/2023 14:49

A tenner back in the day!

Ladyj84 · 20/08/2023 14:54

Won hundreds because I don't waste money playing it lol

Laurama91 · 20/08/2023 15:33

I dont do lottery but do save in premium bonds. Having looked through first few pages of this where most people are less than £100 maybe this is something to look into. Most ive had at once is £500. This month I got £50, in July £25 ans May another £25. App only shows last 6 months but think I had more at start of year

80sMum · 20/08/2023 15:39

The most I ever won on the lottery was £10.

AvocadotoastORahouse · 20/08/2023 16:13

Funnily enough I won £30 last night which is my first win in flipping years!

ohtowinthelottery · 20/08/2023 17:07

£10 on a scratchcard. We only buy them a Christmas though. Gave up buying weekly lottery tickets many years ago.

A close relative once won a car and the jackpot (a significant sum back then) in a Spot the Ball competition back in the 1970's. We found out as we were on holiday (in a UK resort) and saw their photo on a newspaper billboard outside a newsagents.

Zanatdy · 20/08/2023 17:07

£90 ish a few times

Ohmylovejune · 20/08/2023 17:11

Me - about £10 - not done it in years.

I know someone who won about £3k as part of a large syndicate that overall won quite a lot but when split it was just the £3k.

I've done well on premium bonds but that's not this thread.
