Curiosity only. I feel like it’s pointless getting a ticket but every now and then I like to daydream.

About £150. BIL won 20K

Who else misread that the first time???

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 19/08/2023 17:08

51 quid.

LetMeGoogleThat · 19/08/2023 17:08

£85 back in the late 90s, popped into the shop on the way to pick up my car from the garage, and the bill was the exact same price!

PermanentTemporary · 19/08/2023 17:09

£140 a few weeks ago. Was delighted.

DinnaeFashYersel · 19/08/2023 17:09

£50 on a scratch card
£8 on a lottery ticket

My sister won £200

AutumnIsMyFriend · 19/08/2023 17:10

£130

Mumof2teens79 · 19/08/2023 17:13

About £350
I played online for about 2 yrs on and off, when I won that I realised I was close to breaking even and I could have just saved up!
But it is different and it did feel special.

I have played again since but only occasionally.
If you can't afford to play you really shouldn't because the chance of winning is miniscule.

DSis got 5 numbers once and thought she’d be retiring - sadly lots of folk did that week too so she only got £800 ish. I’ve had a couple of tenners but that’s about it. Don’t play regularly. Monthly direct debit to people’s post code lottery (£12 a month) for about 2 years and have won 2x £10. So rubbish really.

I won 1400 on 5 numbers, I was glad I knew the amount before I knew it was 5 numbers (it was about 2006)

lap90 · 19/08/2023 17:14

60ish quid.

annonymousse · 19/08/2023 17:14

£5,500 on the postcode lottery about 3 months after I started doing it. £10 on the national lottery.

PostItInABook · 19/08/2023 17:15

20k on the raffle bit, rather than getting the actual lotto numbers.

Me - £20

A friend - £3.9 million

£3.9m?! Wow. What did they end up doing with it? You occasionally hear stories of people running through it in no time, which is so sad.

Do they still work? I think I’d still work - but far fewer hours!

Yeah you’re thinking…5 numbers, just one away, gonna be a fortune!!! But nah. She’d promised us all a holiday before she found out how little it was🤣

Marmite27 · 19/08/2023 17:17

£570 and £960.

both came at the right time as the first time the car failed it’s mot and cost £550 to fix. Without it, we would have been without a car until we’d saved up. The second time, it was the week DH got made redundant and didn’t know if there was any payout because the company went under.

user8665439 · 19/08/2023 17:17

About £140

LookingForPurpose · 19/08/2023 17:18

I won £51 last week. That's it. Win the bonus ball at work a few times.

mauvish · 19/08/2023 17:20

I don't do the lottery. But I used to know a retired couple who won £6.5 million.

I understand that they gave a lot of it to charity, having first set themselves and family members up re housing.

sanityisamyth · 19/08/2023 17:20

I won £80 once. My mother demanded half of it. We're NC for many reasons ...

Poivresel · 19/08/2023 17:20

About 20 years ago I won £40.
The next day the car broke down.
The repair was £40.

LooselyBasedOnAMadeUpStory · 19/08/2023 17:21

£56
That was over 20 years ago though. Rarely even get £10 these days.

Mynewnameis · 19/08/2023 17:23

£50 on scratch card. It was 30 years ago so I felt rich as was a teen.

shiningstar2 · 19/08/2023 17:24

£547 with 4 numbers on one of those roll down weeks. £140 another time on a regular 4 numbers week. A couple of £30 on 3 and loads of 2 numbers and getting a free ticket.

msmonstera · 19/08/2023 17:26

25 quid on a scratch card I bought because I was feeling lucky. 2 quid on a scratch card that was part of a birthday gift. That's it. But in general, I don't play. We had a borderline forced work syndicate that won precisely zero and really felt like idiot tax.. however I have a friend who DID win through a work syndicate. They got about half a million each.

TroysMammy · 19/08/2023 17:27

£10. It paid for my coat to be cleaned when a pigeon shit on it. I bought a ticket straight away when it happened and that was as far as my luck goes.

TooOldForThisNonsense · 19/08/2023 17:28

£75 about 20 years ago
