to think that some people should just stop moaning?

Some people are never happy, are they? They moan that they are in a bad situation, usually of their own making, then they moan that nobody will help them, then they moan that when someone does help them, it's the wrong sort of help, then they are dug out of the situation the put themselves in, only to put themselves straight back in again.

If you are moaning you don't have enough room in your free house for 2 kids, and then you get put in a bigger (free!) house so you do have enough room, why do people then get pregnant again? Are they stupid or what????? It's just a kick in the teeth to everyone who helps them when they are desperate, it's wasted money down the drain all the time. They should be made to live with it. It's not my problem if they can't keep their uglies in their pants.

Hey Peetree Houseplant Brickbrain lady...

Listen Very Carefully! I shall say this only Once!

No-one is taking you seriously because you are a SOCK, a TROLL, an ALIAS.. a two-bit coward who doesn't have the balls to front up and say what you think under your own name.

When you can grow a pair, we may dicuss it.. til then, you may go forth and multiply.. but only if you don't live in a council house!

Lauriefairycake · 28/02/2008 22:51

Only to Desi (not weirdo troll) - council housing is substantially cheaper ime

My friend in Welwyn garden city pays £54 per week for 2 bed house

House next door (semi-detached) sold last week for £275,000 - that would attract a mortgage of £1300 per month approx

big difference

S1ur · 28/02/2008 22:51

Kaishay.

I am loving your work.

Washersaurus · 28/02/2008 22:53

I agree, Kaishay is in fine form this evening

GodzillasNotAmused1BitBumcheek · 28/02/2008 22:55

If anyone is vaguely interested there is thisdiscussion (slowly) going on...but i'm off to bed.

Emprexia · 28/02/2008 22:56

Aw... TMMJ... you'll spoil all our fun.

Desiderata · 28/02/2008 23:07

Okay, I guess things have moved on. The difference between council house rental and private rental was not huge a few years back, but I'm sure the gap has widened lately.

The thing to remember about council houses is that they were set up after WW2 to address a national housing shortage .. partly to do with bombing, and partly to do with a population explosion.

People just didn't have the cash or the means to buy a home for themselves, and no responsible government can let people sleep on the streets.

Over the intervening years, it became a bit of a class issue ... but on a human level, if you've lived in your house for any number of years, whether rented from the council, rented from a private owner, or mortgaged, it's still your home.

If someone asked you to leave it in order to address some geo-political itch, you'd probably tell them to fuck off, wouldn't you?

NiceTry · 28/02/2008 23:08

lol at all you mumsnetters who insist on posters using their real name . This is not real life and as far as I know no-one on here uses their real name.

Also, what is the problem with someone expressing extreme, controvertial views? You all feel so cosy in your 'pat on the back', 'pretend we're all friends', 'cyberspace sisterhood', this aint real and the vast majority of you (probably me too) need to get a life!

Kewcumber · 28/02/2008 23:08

"Nobody can anser me honestly though" - you're missing the point, no-one is trying to answer you honestly.

What new rules???

onebatmother · 28/02/2008 23:09

Oooh. New rules?

Emprexia · 28/02/2008 23:10

rubs hands together

oooooh.... look.. new blood! [evil grin]

I just love the smell of dumbass in the evening!

Desiderata · 28/02/2008 23:12

There is no problem at all with expressing controversial views. They should be applauded, and most women on MN have a great respect for women who do so, regardless of the bun-fights.

The OP is obviously a regular, but she has changed her name. She either has the courage of her convictions, or she doesn't.

I could wear a latex mask and call any number of people any number of names. Would that make me brave?

Nope.

Washersaurus · 28/02/2008 23:13

Is it the same name changer though Kaishay?

I referred to the new policy earlier on - pointless, time consuming slanging matches are now under threat y'know

JeremyVile · 28/02/2008 23:14

"I could wear a latex mask and call any number of people any number of names. Would that make me brave? Nope"

To be fair though Desi, it would probably make you a few quid.

Kewcumber · 28/02/2008 23:16

who talked about "real" name Nicetry? I see some references to name-changers, regular names and own name.

I think people are a bit bored of the endless name changers deliberately trying to stir up trouble to amuse themselves.

"You all feel so cosy in your 'pat on the back', 'pretend we're all friends', 'cyberspace sisterhood'" for some-one so keen to point out our deludedness in believing MN is real you seem to have conjured up a remarkably realistic view of what all us imaginary people are feeling

Emprexia · 28/02/2008 23:16

I guess i should put my serious hat on

Nicetry.. i'll be good and explain this in idiotproof terms for you.. make it nice and easy for you to understand.

Posting something controversial is nothing new... however, posting something controversial under a Troll/Sock name isn't very nice.

If you have something to say, and want it discussed in a reasonable, adult, manner.. then why not post it under your regular name?

The reason the houseplant here hasn't is either because
a) she's just shit stirring
b)She's scared that people will think she's a bitch if she posts under her real name and not like her anymore.

Thus endeth todays lesson.

Oblomov · 28/02/2008 23:16

NICETRY IS BACK
WELCOME NICETRY.
Ohhh have I been waiting for you...
we never finished where we left off Nicetry, did we ?
Watch out guys, this is going to get GOOD

Oblomov · 28/02/2008 23:17

Nicetry .... helllooooooooo... can you answer my questions, that you refused to the other day ?????

expatinscotland · 28/02/2008 23:17

ooooo, then I'll stick around! Because I believe Oblomov!

Come back then, NiceTry!

Oblomov · 28/02/2008 23:18

heeellloooo NICETRY

Desiderata · 28/02/2008 23:18

You're probably not wrong, JV.

Oblomov · 28/02/2008 23:18

Has she run away again?
What without answering any questions ?
Now, thats not the spirit, is it ?

Emprexia · 28/02/2008 23:18

Washersaurus.. it probably is, but i like to think people have better things to do than make 2 sock names in one evening.
