to think that some people should just stop moaning?

Some people are never happy, are they? They moan that they are in a bad situation, usually of their own making, then they moan that nobody will help them, then they moan that when someone does help them, it's the wrong sort of help, then they are dug out of the situation the put themselves in, only to put themselves straight back in again.

If you are moaning you don't have enough room in your free house for 2 kids, and then you get put in a bigger (free!) house so you do have enough room, why do people then get pregnant again? Are they stupid or what????? It's just a kick in the teeth to everyone who helps them when they are desperate, it's wasted money down the drain all the time. They should be made to live with it. It's not my problem if they can't keep their uglies in their pants.

Maybe HAP isnt a namechanger, but joined MN with the sole purpose of this 'debate' - WITH THEMSELVES ... or maybe has multiple personalities and thinks their own posts are from other people?

Isnt there a cyber phrase equivalent to "Talk to the hand" that's used on here? If not, anyone know any good ones?

Emprexia · 28/02/2008 22:35

I think it'd be a waste of menstrual stock...

ick.. did i really just type that.. eew [sick face]

Kewcumber · 28/02/2008 22:35

"It's not about the cycle of dependancy" - so sorry you seem to have mistaken my post as a desire to enter the discussion. I was just commenting on the peculiarity of this thread as a method of opening the debate. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Washersaurus · 28/02/2008 22:36

Go on tell us - what is the recipe for menstrual stock then? Does it have celery in it?

Greensleeves · 28/02/2008 22:36

Yes, bugger off Kewcumber with yer A-Levels and yer multi-syllabic words - we don't need your sort around here

mrsruffallo · 28/02/2008 22:37

HavingAPop-I think there is a debate to be had about generational dependency on the state, and it can be frustrating for those who see the reality of it rather than the concept.
But your style and namechange leave a lot to be desired

Emprexia · 28/02/2008 22:37

FunkyNora..

I think the overwhelming sound of crickets we can hear over those rolling tumbleweeds pretty much say it all.

Oh.. hang on? Did i hear something ::listens:: oh.. nevermind, it was just my DS farting over the monitor... carry on!

HavingAPop · 28/02/2008 22:39

It's been kind of triggered by someone I know in real life, she has 5 kids, she can't cope with any of them, she won't let her husband go to work, and she moans about nobody ever helping her, and she's so penniless all the time, and nobody cares, and wah wah wah, oh and guess what? She stopped taking her pill last week so she could 'ave anuvva baybay because she really misses the cuddles. She doesn't cuddle the 5 she's got. Stupid cow. She got given a loan to decorate with, blew it on a Nintendo Wii and then had no money for shopping the next week. And she moaned about that too.

would you like a bridge built?

I have some spare bricks

Kewcumber · 28/02/2008 22:40

actually I see that OP doesn't want a debate. In that case HAP in answer to your question...

No, YANBU, some people should indeed stop moaning

Washersaurus · 28/02/2008 22:40

I know a woman, she lives in a shoe, she has so many children she doesn't know what to do....

Emprexia · 28/02/2008 22:41

See.. now asking us "AIBU for thinking my friend is a silly cow" would have been a good thread.

But turning it into what you did... stupid... bricklike intelligence demonstrated, and not worthy of anything other than continued pointing and laughing!

FunkyNora · 28/02/2008 22:41

Kaishay

I realised that, it literally slapped me in the face; my post was supposed to be 'tongue in cheek' but I dont think HAP got it either!

Kewcumber · 28/02/2008 22:42

I might even believe that story if it was posted under a name I recognised...

Desiderata · 28/02/2008 22:42

I vote Tory, and I sometimes read the Daily Mail. But everyone knows I'm a cunt

Without wishing to engage too much, HaP, I would like to know two things:-

  1. Why have you changed your name? Grow some bollocks, woman.
  1. Council houses aren't free. You do have to pay rent, you know. You always did, and it's not substantially less than private rental.
amytheearwaxbanisher · 28/02/2008 22:43

back under the bridge troll....if not a troll then a twatwho is too much of a coward to post in their own name

Oh popping one.

your thinking is full of shite. And worse it is generalised, smelly shite.

So poor people shouldn't have children if they, what, like babies/don't meet your standards of parenting/are poor and live in a council house that has just enough rooms to house their family as it is?

Oh and yeah, poor people who are in receipt of us taxpayers generous bounty shouldn't be allowed to complain.

S'yeah right.

HavingAPop · 28/02/2008 22:45

Nobody can anser me honestly though, would you treat your kids like this? If your 20 year old blew their wages on sweets would you give them the money to live? Yes you probably would - but how many times would you expect to have to do that before they got the idea that it wasn't a very bright thing to do? Not long I bet, because you wouldn't hand the cash over without a word, would you. And if you knew they were crap with money you wouldn't hand over the cash at all. You would buy the stuff for them so you know they had it.

YOu actually get benefits taken off you for trying to get a higher education, did you know that? That's like you saying to your kids "If you go to sixth form I'm stopping your pocket money". The goverment is begging people to have as many kids as they can and sit on their arse as long as possible, and then they are surprised when people develop a "Bad back" the minute their last kid leaves home.

Greensleeves · 28/02/2008 22:46

joking apart though, this is a pretty serious issue

S1ur · 28/02/2008 22:46

Damn I fed the troll quick cover me!

Desiderata · 28/02/2008 22:47

Aye, aye, aye, Kerry! I feel totally vented by threads like this, troll or no troll. Whoever the OP, she obviously believes it.

I am constantly staggered by the amount of people in this country who think that council housing is free. What? Do you honestly think that the government is going to give you a house for fuck all????

I also like Colditz, and the OP is having a pop. So .... BANG!

Washersaurus · 28/02/2008 22:49

I feel really bad about hanging around here enjoying some light troll bashing now I've noticed there is a new mum struggling and in need of support on another thread.

LOL

I agree, grow some balls and have a serious debate. And when you start it, be less generalizing, and less hairy and trolly.
