Local corner shop, SW London, kind of a coop franchise. I bought the following 5 items:

6 pack co op frankfurters
small deli tub of large green olives and garlic
500ml Pepsi max
small punnet blueberries
small punnet raspberries

Guess how much it cost. I’m utterly shocked.

I honestly thought I was going mad.

the price of 500ml soft drinks is ridiculous in some places now.

No - I don’t look at prices when food shopping.

I know that’s extremely fortunate and I’m lucky enough to earn decent money so whilst I’ve noticed the price creep it hasn’t been a problem (albeit unwelcome).

£2.50 for 500ml of Pepsi max seems really off.

And I kind of ‘know’ (or USED to) how much stuff cost so just got caught.

Our little local coop always has 2 punnets of soft fruit for £4 deal on.

That's a ridiculous total.

I just added the items to a Sainsbury’s trolley - £10.58.

I’ll be planning better moving forward.

I had a similar experience in a makeup shop. Bought foundation, cover up and mascara - £100.

I’m surprised it took so long before someone asked about the lunch components.

Keto plus period plus horrific night with my little bugger of a child - needed meat, something with SOME nutrients (berries and olives) and caffeine.

coop are completely rip off expensive. I have one a min walk to me but I have only used it in emergencies and lockdown.

The fruit aren’t a great option on keto btw, only frozen is best to keep the sugar content low. But sympathise, keto generally is harsh and defo not a diet to try and plan for on the hop.
