It is AUGUST.

Same with back to school things. Both my dc have left school now, but it's worse now. It used to be the first week of the 6 week holiday they would start, which was bad enough I thought. But now, before the kids have even broken up for the long holiday, our shops have all back all these back to school signs, stands and specials on.

My dc have 7 wks off, I don't want to by school stuff until the end of summer

Yup, I'm with you. It's part of the reason I really dislike Christmas. It doesn't exactly make it special.

Would be interesting to see the Best Before dates on those!!

Why isn't extra stock ordered then so it is still available on Xmas Eve

Because no retail company wants to be left with seasonal stock. It's a balancing act to forecast amounts but ideally they want to be completely sold out by or just before Cmas Eve.

I used to work for Asda, we used to get easter eggs delivered the first week after Christmas 😂 they're nothing if not prepared.
