I think it's okay but a bit casual. I admit I wouldnt feel comfortable wearing it to someone elses wedding though.

fairymary87 · 15/08/2023 18:57

It's like a day dress not really for a wedding

BogRollBOGOF · 15/08/2023 18:57

It's floral, not plain white, and it's not a typically bridal length or fabric.
It's lovely.

largeprintagathachristie · 15/08/2023 18:58

Too white

Blueuggboots · 15/08/2023 18:59

How well do you know the bride? Can you ask her??

BranchGold · 15/08/2023 19:44

I just wanted to echo what a previous poster said in regards to white really being prominent in photographs, which could draw quite some attention to you that won’t be appreciated.

I wouldn’t personally wear it, it’s pretty though. Get it for general summer, you can get lots of wear out of it.

category12 · 15/08/2023 19:45

For once I'm on the side of it being too white.

panko · 15/08/2023 19:47

You absolutely should not wear that to a wedding

Exactly this. It will catch the eye too much in photos.

Crunchymum · 15/08/2023 19:51

I think it's lovely.

I'd check with the bride (if you know her well enough) any back-up options?

Sparkletastic · 15/08/2023 19:53

Too white.
Too casual.

ZekeZeke · 15/08/2023 19:55

Summer gardent pary = perfect.
Wedding = big no! Way too casual

SilentHedges · 15/08/2023 19:56

Too white. There's a load of other colours you can wear, so why risk upsetting the bride unnecessarily.

RenoDakota · 15/08/2023 20:14

Absolutely hideous. And way too short, unless you are about 16.

B1993 · 15/08/2023 20:25

Definitely too white. It also doesn't seem formal enough to me for a wedding... unless the wedding is more of a casual do?

Holidaystress11 · 15/08/2023 20:27

I think when it comes to weddings, if you have to ask then its a no

Feelingss · 15/08/2023 21:38

Ok I’ve spoken to the bride who’s a close friend and she is happy with me wearing it. I’ve offered to wear an alternative one but she’s assured me she’s fine with it!

Very few people would say “pick another dress” to your face though.
There are so many colour and so many dresses, it’s just self indulgent to pick the one off limits colour at someone else’s wedding.

2chocolateoranges · 15/08/2023 21:53

I don’t have a problem with the colour but I think it’s too casual. I’d want something a bit more dressier.

PurpleButterflyWings · 15/08/2023 21:55

It's awful @Feelingss !!! I'd wear it to the beach maybe, but not for anything formal, and definitely not a wedding! Urgh no! Also, yes it IS too white!

runningonberocca · 15/08/2023 21:58

Not for a wedding- too white, too short, too casual

NutellaNut · 15/08/2023 21:59

Agree with others who say it’s too casual. A nice dress for a BBQ or something, but you might look a bit under dressed for a wedding. Colour not really an issue as no one will mistake you for a bride.

BranchGold · 15/08/2023 22:11

It’s obviously up to you if you care, but have in mind that other women/people at the wedding will be aware of it and may make comments about the suitability of your choice.

paddleboarder12 · 15/08/2023 22:11

I went to a wedding in a country house last month and lots of people were wearing dresses like that or midi/maxi versions. Everyone looked lovely and comfortable in their summer dresses. Only one or two guests wore heels, there were lots of flat sandals. Hardly any of the ladies wore what I’d call more formal outfits, the couple that did looked a bit dated as if they’d had their outfits for a long time.
A couple of the young trendy guests wore Fascinators and they looked good. One wore a long white polka dot dress and what looked liked DM sandals and she was the best dressed guest there, you know when someone looks really stylish?

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 15/08/2023 22:20

Too white, too casual and too short. It's a brunch at a nice bistro dress.
