I'm becoming increasingly irritated by vapes, everywhere I go there are people surrounded by a cloud of sickly smelling chemicals.
At a gig this weekend every group of people had at least one vaper constantly puffing.
Why do people think its OK?
My other bug bear is the discarded disposable ones 😡

Vapes have changed. Unless you're a die hard old vaper, most vapes have very small output now after breathing them in.

No one is making you feel ill due to these mumsnet 'sicky cloud chemicals' stop overreacting.

I'm not sure why that's funny. And I think people who vape are clearly in denial about how unpleasant it is for others

@PackettInn since you aren’t me, you have absolutely no idea the effect they have on anyone other than yourself. You are unpleasantly and unnecessarily rude.

I smoked from the age of 18 until I turned 40, I then gave up smoking by using a vape. I don't use disposable ones and never have done, I also don't vape anywhere other than my own back garden - just like I never smoked anywhere but my garden. I'm only using tobacco flavoured fluid and it doesn't seem to smell of anything at all so I'm sure the squirrels aren't too bothered by it.

When I'm out and about in town or somewhere the smell of cigarettes does bother me but I can't recall any occasions where I've been bothered by someone vaping. The people I despise the most are the ones who apparently bathe in a vat of cheap perfume before leaving the house and it hangs around them like a toxic cloud, I can taste their stench and it makes me retch.

I have a diagnosed allergy to particular common fragrances used in manufacturing. Vape mist is dangerous for people like me.

I see this on here all the time. It's such a...strange take! For starters, a vape looks precisely nothing like a dummy.

People are utterly fuming that smokers have found something that helps them stop smoking, aren't they.

It looks silly and the clouds are sickly sweet but it’s much much better for bystanders than smoking.

The real worry is that vaping is being taken up by kids who might never have smoked normal cigarettes. New Zealand hoped to be smoke-free but now vaping has taken over. It’s a huge issue for them now apparently.

It is all pretty stupid. Inhaling crap every day, cigarettes or vapes is never going to end well, but humans are idiots.

I would rather stand next to a vaper than a smoker I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️

If I forced to make a choice, obvs I would prefer to stand next to the vaper but both are gross.

Vapes are obviously better than smoking but like the pp said, they're now a problem in themselves, particularly amongst kids.

I think they are even more anti-social than cigarettes! I can cope with cigarette smoke outside, but vape is vile and stinks in an equally and possibly even more unpleasant way, and we don't know what it is doing to us. At least we know what cigarettes do to us.

All the fuss on here about Think 25 in supermarkets - trading standards should do a few test purchases in vape shops. Even my local garage has adverts for them outside it, despite it not being allowed.

Also, cigarette smoke is actual smoke. Vape 'smoke' is water vapour. The smell disappears in seconds. I highly doubt you'd rather smell stale smoke that lingers for hours than water vapour that disappears in seconds.

Do you realise that when things get released into production they have to be extensively researched? Do you think GPs will prescribe vape devises on a whim? As there is talk with the government about having them on prescription to help chronic smokers stop.

Cigarette smoke absolutely stinks l, clings to the smoker and those around them and is highly carcinogenic.

Vapour from vapes isn’t nice if you get a cloud of someone else’s vape right in your face, but it doesn’t make you stink or cause secondary lung cancer.

For life insurance purposes etc do you have to declare that you ‘cape’ ?
