To think this could be drugs?

So I was just getting things out for the kids to play with in the water tray and came across a tin and thought they could use it. Just opened it and found a brown substance wrapped in cling film and rolling paper.

What does it look like to you?

I never need to go into the storage outside but today I did and happened to come across it.

I want to confront my DP who I know will probably gaslight me and say he has no idea. But it was a tin together with the rolling paper.

The problem is he's off next week and we've planned days out with the kids and I don't want to ruin it for them if things go sour.

I don't like the stuff and don't agree with it so it's a possible deal breaker for me tbh.

I'm not sure whether I should just leave it where I found it and check on it week after next and see if it's been used or hide it somewhere else and see if he reacts to it. He obviously won't tell me he can't find it as he's clearly hidden it from me. But then he'll know I've found it.

I don't know what to do atm until next week is over with.

What would you do?

I've no idea what most drugs look like but could the tin have been left there by previous owners/tenants?

Do you have any reason to think it is your DH?

Looks like it could be weed but as ohmylovejune said it could have been put there a long time ago.

It's definitely his as this was empty when we purchased the house and this is the coffee we drink.

I don't know who else's it would be. It's not mine and definitely not the kids. (Oldest is 9)

It looks like hash to me, if he is smoking it in rolling papers he will need tobacco too… Is there any knocking around?

It's resin. I would just ask him if it's his? Someone has been smoking it.

They're 'Raw' skin brand rolling papers, most commonly used with weed, tac, types of smokable cannabis

It's very clearly hash/puff. Resin form of cannabis. No question whatsoever.

The thing is the neighbour is always smoking weed and he gets annoyed when they do and the smell comes through the house

It's a small amount of cannabis resin. Is there a reason this would bother you so much more than him smoking tobacco? Do you think it might be affecting his ability to be a good husband or dad?

As others have said it's resin / hash it's a form of quite potent weed. (Almost like an oil/gum extracted from the leaves when it's pressed). Raw papers again a telltale sign of a weed smoker.

Cannabis flower and cannabis resin smell different.

You could hate the smell of flower but not mind resin and vice versa.

If I had an issue with DH I wouldn’t be able to act normally until we had discussed it. But I would think about what I wanted from the conversation. When you say it is a deal breaker, would you actually leave him over it?

He is an adult who can do what he wants, but you are allowed to think what you think about his choices.

Have you ever suspected he is high? Does this get in the way of family life? I am assuming not if you have never noticed.
