… Margot? I do! I’ve watched the Barbie movie three times now and I’ve developed a girl crush on her for some reason. I’ve watched a few clips of her Barbie promo with Ryan and she just exudes cool, fun but also serious and mature energy. Never seen any of her movies before.

Pathetic but I’m considering her Barbie promo style a bit of a style inspiration. I’m trying to dress more girly and feminine now. I’m also losing weight too. She’s just soo cool and pretty.

I really envy her and Tom’s relationship/marriage even though I know nothing real about them. I wonder what is going on with me because I can recognise this is well weird and it’s only the last two weeks I’ve felt this way.

Funny as my take from the film was that it really doesn’t matter how I look! And I’d much rather be normal sized and have a vagina 😂

Youdoyoutoday · 10/08/2023 17:34

Yes without a doubt, I'm so sick of struggling with my weight, losing some, gaining it back, menopause belly!! I'd love to not have to keep change my outfit every morning until I feel comfortable and confident in something. I'd be happy to keep my facial features and colouring but have barbie's figure? Yep!

No, I'm not white and don't wish to look like barbie or Margot . As many on here would scream cultural appropriation - however I wouldn't mind being taller and thinner with nicer skin and longer thicker hair. Buts that's as far as it goes. Her look is so common to me it's boring I like more exotic features a face that can speak a thousand words without talking.

a face that can speak a thousand words without talking.

That's an actress!

dramoy · 10/08/2023 17:52

I would also like to have the body of Sarah Jessica Parker. Im rewatching old sex and the city episodes and she is so petite and dainty.

She has an amazing figure, she's tiny but proportionately long legs & she's still got hips & boobs.

Yes, so common looking, I mean I see Margot types everywhere I look, in Teaco Metro, the station, Waitrose, such a common look.

Goodness, that’s very flattering. She’s incredibly beautiful. To see beautiful women so much is just lovely of you to think that.

mondaytosunday · 10/08/2023 18:31

No she's not my type. I've always liked dark curly haired Latin look! So sexy.

Bluekangaroo123 · 10/08/2023 18:35

I think she’s stunning & she seems like a down to earth, genuine person but I don’t aspire to look like her. That’s a good thing really as I look absolutely nothing like her!

golddustwomen · 10/08/2023 18:36

I wound absolutely bloody love too!

golddustwomen · 10/08/2023 18:36

Would

Cosycover · 10/08/2023 18:48

Honestly I've never understood the appeal. There are a thousand better looking actresses. So no I guess.

I'd rather look like Mila Kunis.

DrSbaitso · 10/08/2023 19:28

I can believe some people don't want to look like Margot Robbie, or that she isn't their type.

But I don't believe for one second that anyone here really thinks she's average or plain, or truly can't understand why she's considered to be beautiful. Ffs. Do people think this makes them sound discerning or something?

DrSbaitso · 10/08/2023 20:08

Ah...apparently a little while ago, a load of stupid negging men united on the Internet to declare that Margot Robbie isn't that good looking and she's a 7 at best, as if they have ever done more than dreamed about a woman half as beautiful as she plainly is. Some men really can't stand to be reminded how far out of their league some women are.

As for the rest, I guess it's a backlash against the saturation coverage of Barbie. Hang in there, folks, it's a summer blockbuster. It'll pass.

I'm sure she'd be gutted.

I think some men don't understand that women don't care if men don't fancy them. Especially when you are young and pretty - a bit less leering? Great! A man telling me when I was 20 than men won't fancy me if a drink pints didn't get at all that I didn't give a shit!

People are allowed to have differing opinions, she's very pretty but her look (blonde hair blue or greenish eyes) to me is quite boring even if she has or hasn't had surgery she can't change her DNA... it's so Hollywood and so expected... I think I'm more interested in faces which have more unusual and distinct features.

SocksAndTheCity · 10/08/2023 20:28

Indeed they did, @DrSbaitso .

On Reddit apparently; the home of the demi gods so flawless in their perfect divinity that to gaze upon Margot Robbie would be such an insult to their eyes that they would immediately vomit, or go on fire or something. Probably Hmm

Tbf while I would find it odd that people don't see her as pretty go onto the celeb male threads where people lust over Benedict C (not remotely attractive in my eyes) & see Tom Hardy (who I think is 😍) as awful.

Nobody has denied that people can have differing opinions.

But I'm calling absolute BS on the posters pretending they think she's average looking or not to understand why she's considered beautiful.

Heh.

dramoy · 10/08/2023 20:52

And tbf one of my male cousins thinks she is too angular & doesn't get the hype so I do think beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

dramoy · 10/08/2023 20:53

Britney Spears was considered the height of beauty when I was a teenager & I really didn't see it facially.

She may not be his type, but if he says he doesn't understand why she is considered to be beautiful, he's honestly talking cobblers.

The hype is because she's starring in a very successful and well marketed summer blockbuster based on a very famous product. Surely people can get this?

dramoy · 10/08/2023 21:41

Well I don't think he's seen the film. A trailer came on & I said she looks amazing in that film. He said I don't get the fuss about her. I was like she's gorgeous. He said nah don't see it, face is very angular. He's a lot younger than me so I just thought stupid kids & then convo drifted to what takeaway we should get.

What does boring mean here, it’s hard to fathom, by common standards this woman is considered beautiful. It would be unusual to be unable to see that, even coldly. So what is boring, you find beauty dull and boring?
